Planning expenses with no relation to income. Students get a feel of expenses
and work with whole and decimal numbers to calculate total cost.

Planning expenses in relation to a stipulated income. Students need to determine how to

Planning expenses in relation to a given income and achieving a short term goal. Students
work out a spending plan to achieve a short-term goal.

This fun unit on budgeting features interactive activities to enable students to plan a budget taking into account earned income, expenses and a short-term spending goal.
All written content in this unit is editable providing you with the flexibility to modify the resource to meet your students’ needs. You will be able to change all written content (spellings, currency format etc) - simply type inside the text box in the editable Power Point file. Duration
Each of the four activities in this unit can be completed in one and a half hours over five days. Students may write their reflections and complete self and peer assessments on the fifth day.
WHAT
This unit on fractions features fun fraction interactives that break down and greatly simplify the teaching of fractions. Other than interactive notebook activity sheets, you will also find a fraction game to break the monotony and a 20 questions Fraction test to assess taught content.

WHAT ELSE
Equivalent Fraction Snap game comes with instructions to play and a cheat sheet. There is a coloured version as well as a black and white one of the game.
Answer sheets to all activity sheets are included. This is especially handy, as answer sheets can be displayed on the interactive whiteboard for students to self-check. This saves you loads of marking, besides it is an invaluable learning moment as students take note of their mistakes.

There are many variations to the game. Here’s one:Lay cards around the classroom. When the teacher calls ‘scoot’ students pick up a card and write their response on the provided Recording Sheet. Students can only move when ‘scoot’ is called out. If the student does not finish solving the problem on a card, he/she can continue to spend more time on it, but must wait till the teacher calls out ‘scoot’. You can also have this as a silent activity where students move around quietly solving all the task cards without the teacher calling out ‘scoot’.
At the culmination of the activity, project the cards on the interactive whiteboard and discuss the answers with the class. Alternatively, place answer sheets at a Centre for students to self-check.
PREPARATION
♦ Stack and perfectly align sheets. Cut along task card borders carefully. Work with 3 sheets at a time for better manipulation.
♦ Laminate cards for durability. There are four cards on a single sheet.

Review multiplication facts and build number sense with these 32 St. Patrick’s Day themed multiplication scoot cards on the 1-12 times tables. These cards feature colourful St. Patrick’s Day themed illustrations to make abstract content more concrete and meaningful. There are two styles to the Recording Sheets, one scaffolded to elicit the desired response, and the other includes blank answer sections.
The multiplication skills for the 1-12 times tables reinforced in this pack are:

There are two sets of Recording Sheets (Numbers 1-16 and 17-32). Students have a choice between the scaffolded and blank sectioned Recording Sheets. An answer key is provided to have students independently check their answers.
Prior to having students work on the cards, work-out similar sample questions on the board to familiarise students with the question types.

Game of Scoot:
There are many variations to the game. Here’s one:Lay cards around the classroom. When the teacher calls ‘scoot’ students pick up a card and write their response on the provided Recording Sheet. Students can only move when ‘scoot’ is called out. If the student does not finish solving the problem on a card, he/she can continue to spend more time on it, but must wait till the teacher calls out ‘scoot’. You can also have this as a silent activity where students move around quietly solving all the task cards without the teacher calling out ‘scoot’.
At the culmination of the activity, project the cards on the interactive whiteboard and discuss the answers with the class. Alternatively, place answer sheets at a Centre for students to self-check.
