Iron Man Poetry Unit of Work + Resources Attached is a fully editable 1-week Iron Man Unit Plan (this can easily be extended to 2 or 3 weeks). Genre: Poetry. Focus Text: The Iron Man by Brenda Williams. A 36-slide PowerPoint complements the unit of work - just click through each slide. All of the activities/resources are in the slide show - just print off the relevant slides. Optional homework task also included. . Objectives for each lesson: LESSON 1: To describe the Iron Man; To perform verses of the Iron Man; To rewrite verses of the original text. LESSON 2: To compose poetry verses describing the ‘Return of the Iron Man’; To perform poetry using a set criterion. LESSON 3: To create a character profile sheet of the Iron Man using rhyming words; To choose and describe a pretend job The Iron Man might do on his ‘home’ planet; To compose and write a poem based on the Iron Man’s pretend job using rhyming couplets. . Please note: Each lesson is designed to last approximately 1 to 2 hours (this all depends on the age and ability of your class).
