Physics Pack This Science bundle contains 12 resources. This is a great way stock your physics resource arsenal, all lessons are designed to meet ‘Outstanding’ inspection criteria. Resources include: Energy Efficiency: Energy Efficiency Lesson This is a fully differentiated lesson teaching pupils about energy efficiency It is suggested that you include a practical such as the custard powder with Bunsen burner experiment. A you tube link for this is included within the PPT should you wish to show the pupils without conducting the experiment yourself. This Science resource pack contains: A PPT (27 slides) and handouts (8 sheets) . Activities include: Starter Task: Two Thinking Skills questions- One on efficiency and one on energy transfer. An energy transfer and efficiency activity-We suggest that the ‘Differentiated Word Bank’ be printed on the back of the energy transfer and efficiency activity sheet for ease of use should the pupils require it. A YouTube clip on the custard powder experiment. An activity on devices and percentage of waste. Activity-Create a bar Graph based on the data for the devices and percentage of waste. Extension Task: Create a pie chart on the data. Plenary (Exit task) : Good Graph, Bad Graph-Pupils are shown examples of bar graphs and are asked if they are correct or incorrect. Energy Transfer: This is a lesson teaching pupils the different types of energy transfer and the conservation of energy. Halloween - Playing Cards Snap or Go Fish This pack contains 52 playing cards that can be printed out onto card and used as a fun Halloween resource. We recommend that you print out TWO sets and use them and pupils can use them to play snap with the deck.Alternatively, ‘go fish’ whereby all cards are put face down on the table and pupils have to try to match pairs. In both cases the person with the most sets wins. It is entirely up to you how you prepare these cards, But we recommend that you print them out, in colour onto paper or card cut around the top and bottom card (on the top and bottom left). We then fold the middle section and glue the pieces together and laminate the card to ensure it’s durability. Alternatively, you can just use the front of the card for ease of use. Halloween : Design your own Halloween Costume This is a fun Halloween activity that can be used as a fun Tutor Time activity or a whole school competition. You have a choice of giving the pupils a sheet with male and female figures to design their own costume or they can choose between a male or female figure on which to design their own wacky Halloween outfits. We print these out on A3 paper and display the best submissions on the wall. Pupils have to label each aspect of their costume and on the back of this sheet write a paragraph about their design together with some Halloween facts and information about the symbolism of each item they have used. Tutor Time: European Day of Languages Pin Badges This is a selection European Badges that we print out on card and have pupils to write what language they speak on them. They then wear these badges throughout the day and use them as a talking point. There is also a blank badge for pupils to draw their own flag and write their language of choice. Back To School - Subject Debates This is the perfect addition to any tutor session especially at the beginning of the school year! This is a FULLY INTERACTIVE presentation with animation and MUSIC. The PPT consists of over 30 Slides with 12 activities and three of our fun count down timers. Use the Subject Selector Wheel on slide 2 to select one of the 12 School Subject topics within this presentation. click on a coloured segment of the selector to start it spinning and the hand to stop it. You can then click on the selected subject icon to take you to the relevant activity. If you wish to be taken back to the Subject Selector, there is a signpost on each page. You have the option of selecting either one of the 5, 10 or 15 minute timers for each activity. These can be used if you want to focus on a specific subject question. A GREAT SCIENCE PLANNING UNIT Science - An Introductory Unit! Worth £47 Leave a review and get a free resource of your choice. This Science bundle contains 15 resources thats over 10 teaching hours. This is a great way to start any Science teaching year, all lessons are designed to meet 'Outstanding' inspection criteria. Resources include: Lesson 1: A presentation that takes pupils through the 10 rules for the Science lab. A great back to school refresher. Lesson 2: Hazard Symbols- This lesson introduces pupils to signs and symbols, why we have them in Science and specifically symbols that are found in the laboratory. Pupils are asked to look at every day symbols and their meanings and to discuss why we have symbols. They are then introduced to 9 hazard symbols and their meanings. This lesson comes with a blank hazard symbols mind map to complete during the lesson. They must then carryout research for homework and record it on this mind map (we print it onto A3 paper). These being that the children will learn that using a stop click to seconds and hundredths of seconds will give them a precise time. Hazard Symbols: This lesson introduces pupils to signs and symbols, why we have them and specifically symbols that are found in the laboratory.
