iMessage Assessment
A fun an interactive way for children to assess themselves or each other. Children can be prompted to think about questions they could be asked in a text conversation to enable them to share their learning in a deeper way. Taking on the role of the asker and answerer needs the children to think of both sides of coin - learning and sharing the learning.
Planning a Burns Supper
A simple booklet template for planning a Burns Night Supper.
You could use this Booklet as a maths resources and have the children collage a meal from Aldi or Lidl magazines and total the prices. It could be used on iPads and have the children digitally create a menu by inserting images and typing over the PDF. It could also be used as a writing resource as children use descriptive language to write a Burns Night Supper Menu.
Examples can be found on my instagram account @TeachingInTechnicolour. As always I love to see examples of your learners using the resources and hearing feedback. You can similarly tag me on twitter @InTechnicolour
Emoji Inference
A great way to discuss the different emotional vocabulary needed on a day to day basis, by linking it through the commonly used emojis found all around us.
Asking the children to discuss the emojis and to justify this based off the facial expressions of the emojis is a good lesson in understanding that difficulty of reading an emotion on the surface.
