Musical Notes Time Challenges

(0)
Assess your students' note identification knowledge and encourage them to practise and improve with these time challenges. Students start at level 1 and work their way through to level 13. They are given one minute to name all 30 notes. Once they have done so correctly, they can move on to the next level. Each week, alternate the two sheets for the level so students cannot memorise the pattern of notes. Level 1 – Treble clef spaces Level 2 – Treble clef lines Level 3 – Treble clef lines and spaces Level 4 – Bass clef spaces Level 5 – Bass clef lines Level 6 – Bass clef lines and spaces Level 7 – Treble and bass clef spaces Level 8 – Treble and bass clef lines Level 9 – Treble and bass clef lines and spaces Level 10 – Treble clef ledger lines Level 11 – Bass clef ledger lines Level 12 – Treble and bass clef ledger lines Level 13 – All notes The pack includes a full answer sheet. Record your students' results using the group tracker and/or individual tracker.
Complete Clarinet Scales Cards for ABRSM Exams 2017-18 Grades 1 to 8

Complete Clarinet Scales Cards for ABRSM Exams 2017-18 Grades 1 to 8

(0)
This set has cards for every single possible scale combination for the ABRSM clarinet exams grades 1 to 8. Simply print out the page(s) for your student's grade and give them the sheets. They can then cut out the cards and place them in a pot/jar/bag. When they practise, they can pick them out at random to ensure they are practising all of their scales. For grades with more scales, they can sort them into different pots as they play through them - confident, needs some more practice, needs a lot more practice. They should then pick from the "needs a lot more practice" pot most frequently, until eventually all of the scales are in the "confident" pot. Each card tells the student which scale to play, whether it should be tongued or slurred (or, for higher grades, legato-tongued, staccato or slurred) and how many octaves should be played. It is just like having the teacher or examiner giving instructions, and it will ensure students are accustomed to playing each scale on demand. This resource can be used with every single one of your clarinet students as they progress through the grades. NB: I'm not affiliated with ABRSM in any way.
My First Hands Together Piano Sight Reading

My First Hands Together Piano Sight Reading

(0)
Some students find the transition from Grade 1 sight reading, where only one hand is played at a time, to Grade 2 sight reading, where the hands often play together, to be a sudden change. This book is born out of individual pages that I started writing for one of my students to introduce her very gradually to sight reading with both hands together as none of the books I could find had enough easy examples. Now a complete digital book of 185 sight reading examples that increase in difficulty very gradually, it is perfect for the students who need more time to build their confidence and ability. All of the examples are in five finger positions, the hands never having to move within the piece. I have followed the ABRSM Grade 2 sight parameters for sharps and flats, time signatures and note range. The rhythms have been kept simple. This book is the ideal precursor to working on Grade 2 standard pieces. Features: 185 sight reading examples. That’s more than enough to do three a week for an entire year! Simple pieces with the emphasis on a very slow, gradual increase in difficulty Examples with right hand and left hand melodies 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time Up to two sharps or two flats

Complete Beginners' Piano Pack for Children

(0)
Aimed at young beginner pianists, this pack contains 21 games to help students take their first steps on their musical journey. The games take children from their first exploration of the sounds pianos make into understanding the concept of higher and lower pitches. They then focus on finding the different notes on the piano keyboard before moving on to reading their first notes on the staff. Note identification games use five-finger positions surrounding middle C (treble clef C4-G4 and bass clef F3-C4) and also from the C below middle C (bass clef C3-G3) so you can select the hand position on which your method book focuses. Note length games use crotchets, minims, dotted minims and semibreves (quarter notes, half notes, dotted half notes and whole notes). The games have been designed to require minimal preparation and not to use excessive ink. Board games can be played immediately after printing. Games cards have straight edges and are accurately lined up so that they can be cut quickly. The games take an average of five minutes to play, meaning they can easily be used within a weekly instrumental lesson. . Contents: Exploring first sounds – Talking Animals – Sound Machine Higher and lower – Climb and Slide – Coin Flip – Firefighting – Honey Bee-licious Letters of the keys – Find That Note – Musical Notes Bingo – Snakes and Pianos – What the Unicorn Said Notes on the staff for five finger piano – Ah Hoy Pirates – Colour Me Crazy – Dominoes – Quack Quack Ducklings – Unicorns and Ogres Note lengths – Whatever The Weather! – Colour Me Crazy – Piggy Pairs – Sea Life Explorer – Colour Catcher – Floral Fantasy Plus a Notes Guide Sheet to remind students of the note letters and note lengths. I set up the “Music Theory Games Arcade” for them every lesson and they really loved it. It gave a really fun thing to look forward to in lessons. “Once the PDFs were downloaded, I could print them and laminate them meaning we can use them time and time again in the build up to their exams.”
