One take the letters and the other takes the piano images. Players must read the letter card and look at the piano image, using the pattern of the black notes to identify which note is highlighted. If the players’ cards match when placed, they can race to snap them! The download includes two versions; a single-sided set that you can print on thin card and a double-sided set that you can print on paper, then fold and laminate.

Make sight reading fun with Musical Snakes and Ladders! The game is great for young piano pupils to taking their first steps in rhythm and note sight reading. Move your counter to the top of the board to reach the final square. If you’re lucky you can climb up a piano ladder but watch out for those slippery snakes! Each time you land on a music square, correctly play or clap the tune or rhythm on the game card to earn yourself a bonus move forward. Level 1 – Quaver, crotchet and minim (Eighth, quarter and half note) rhythms with the words coffee, tea and cake written underneath as a guide.
