The Grade 2 Music Theory pack, which is based on the current (2020 onwards) ABRSM music theory syllabus, contains 26 games and activities plus 10 music quizzes.
The games have been designed to require minimal preparation. Board games can be played immediately after printing. Games cards have straight edges and are accurately lined up so that they can be cut quickly. The games take an average of five minutes to play, meaning they can easily be used within a weekly instrumental lesson. The music quizzes are based on typical exam papers but condensed into one A4 sheet each, making them quicker to complete than full papers and reducing printing costs. Both UK and US terminology has been used where required.

Here’s what Tim Spoerer, founder of Jam-Bus, had to say about our Grade 1 and 2 Music Theory Packs:
“Last year I ran my first Music Theory Class with Years 5 & 6. It was an enormous success with the vast majority achieving Distinction Grades. It was largely in thanks to Teaching with Ease’s excellent music games. I set up the “Music Theory Games Arcade” for them every lesson and they really loved it. It gave a really fun thing to look forward to in lessons.
“Once the PDFs were downloaded, I could print them and laminate them meaning we can use them time and time again in the build up to their exams.”

Downloading this reading package will save time, teach skills and revamp your reading block.
Includes:
-Text Detectives
This is a fantastic 16 page resource that will enable pupils to master any text and develop their reading skills. The pack contains 8 full colour anchor charts as well as 8 skills cards that can be laminated for use with a range of texts. For use with a whole class, small groups or individuals, this resource will get you off to a flying start. For ages 7 and up.
-Mind the Gap
Are you bored of using the same tired, old reading for enjoyment scheme? Then kick-start reading this year with some London Tube fun. All of the stations have been renamed as authors, and each has a task to be completed. Which of your students will master the tracks and complete every task?
-The Gerbil's Adventure
This amusing tale, featuring Chika the gerbil, offers pupils the opportunity to enjoy a class story and develop their understanding through targeted questions. Specially written to enhance comprehension skills and put together in a handy PowerPoint format, it contains a story following the adventure of the young gerbil, who thinks he has found the ideal owner but ends up in a noisy Year 3 classroom! There is a new chapter for each lesson, along with discussion points and comprehension questions.
-Crash Landing
A perfect accompaniment for those KS2 children studying space, Crash Landing is a five-part comprehension pack, which includes pre-reading questions as well as discussion and comprehension activities. Use either in your daily reading block or use it over a number of weeks to supplement work in English lessons.
-PLUS an hour-long video training session where Jill shows you how to make the most of your new resources.
Get your class ready for the English SATs with our complete Year 6 preparation pack; perfect for use in the run-up to the important week.
Includes:
- 20 reading comprehension texts with a range of text types, dedicated grammar and vocabulary tasks, textual analysis and comprehension questions. It comes complete with a handy 7-page tracker, which will allow you to identify the reading skills taught and give you the evidence you need for your folder. Answers are included.
- 6 grammar progress checks, which will increase your students’ familiarity with the question styles they will be given during the grammar exam. Includes a class tracker. Each 20-question check has been condensed on to 4 pages to save on your printing.
- 10 spelling tests; five using the LKS2 words and five using the UKS2 words from the UK National Spelling Appendix. Each test has a pupil answer sheet and a teacher sheet with example sentences. There is also a class tracker.
Bought separately, these resources come to £32; they are yours today for just £25. That’s a saving of over 20%!
*Please note, you will need to extract/unzip the files after downloading to ensure they all open correctly.
-The Big Book of Grammar Teaching will give you clear definitions, examples and games to do with you class.
-The Grammar Gang characters come in two formats- one as just the characters, and the other has them holding boards so that you can write examples of sentence structures and hang them on your class washing line.
-The parts of speech posters will liven up any display, and they use the Grammar Gang characters for familiarity.
-Hilarious Headlines is an amazing game that I guarantee your kids will love! The cards all have nouns, verbs and phrases. Children are given 5 random cards they have to make into a grammatically correct sentence. Purple Aliens Dab in the White House anyone?
-Our prefix dominoes teach a range of prefixes, and will give you the chance to explain the role of root words without the children even realising!
-Synonym Happy Families is a take on the old card game. Challenging in its vocabulary, the game asks the students to create families whose name has a similar meaning. Personally, I don’t think I’d want to be in family with Mr Fury, Mrs Anger, Master Hot-tempered or Miss Livid!
Ensure your children are confident with all the key aspects of grammar for Years 3-6 with these progress checks. The pack includes six checks for each year group; that’s one per half term. Every check contains 20 questions. The questions cover the range of grammar required in the UK National Curriculum for Years 3-6. The pack also includes handy class trackers, which break down the children’s results into each area of grammar so you can view their progress at a glance.
Answers are included.
The progress checks are also available to purchase by individual year group.
