This resource provides a deeper look at colour as part of the elements of art. ‘Combining Colour’ consists of a PowerPoint presentation which builds on the basic colour theory and language covered in ‘Colour 1’ to include contrasting/complementary and harmonious colours, tertiary colour wheel, warm and cool colours, and the effect of colour on situation, style and mood in a piece of artwork, accompanied by extensive teachers’ notes and multiple worksheets covering the application of this knowledge. The resource can be delivered as a single or multiple lesson depending on ability and time. The completed worksheets can be added to students sketch books to provide useful reference for future study and evidence of learning.
