Divisibility Rules Task Cards (with or without QR codes)

(0)
This set of task cards was designed to practise divisibility rules. The rules included are those for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. Each card requires the student to select which numbers can be divisible by a certain number. There are four options on each card and there is no specific number of correct answers, but students need to find them all. For example, one card could have 2 correct answers, while another can have three. This will encourage students to apply the rule to all four answers and not stop after they have found one correct answer. There are 20 cards in the set. There are two versions of the set. One with QR codes and one without. The QR codes can be scanned on each card to reveal the answers. Each version is also presented in color and ink friendly black and white. A memorandum and record sheet has also been included. Should you have any queries or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me at margauxlangenhoven@gmail.com Happy Teaching! Margaux

This product focuses on Degrees of Comparison. This board game can be used as a center activity to practice Degrees of Comparison. 30 question cards have been included with a game board and instructions. These cards are presented with or without QR codes. A memorandum has been included for when ‘without QR codes’ version is used. Should you wish to use these cards as task cards instead of as a board game, an answer sheet has also been included. QR codes are a lot of fun and create a self-assessing tool. Download a free QR code reader from your app store onto a handheld device. Students then hover the device over the code to reveal the answer to the question. This offers immediate feedback and self correction. It can, however, also be played in smaller groups as a center activity. Laminate the game boards for reuse. Students each get a board and use a white board marker or counters to cover the spaces which are called out. Thirty ‘question cards’ have been included. These questions are presented in two ways, namely: “What is the comparative/superlative version of the following adjective…?” Or “Fill the correct version of the adjective in the given sentence: My mom is (cheerful) than my dad.” A memorandum has also been included to check question card answers if it is needed. This could also mean that the question cards can be used as task cards for further revision. Perfect Tense (I Have... Who Has?)

Perfect Tense (I Have... Who Has?)

(0)
“I Have... ‘Who Has?” is an interactive activity which includes the whole class. Each student gets a card. Hand all 32 cards out which may mean that some students get two cards. This will ensure that the full loop can be completed. Choose a student to start (I often start the loop to set the example). The person to start, reads their “Who Has?” sentence. The rest of the students listen to the sentence and the required tense. They then check their “I Have” sentences for the correct answer. Once they read their answer out and it is determined to be the correct answer, they then read their “Who Has?” sentence. And so the loop continues. For example: First person reads: “Who Has - Tom had liked football. In Perfect Present?” Person with the answer reads: “ I have – Tom has liked football.” “Who Has ...” You may be interested in my other Perfect Tense products. Perfect Tense Board Game

(1)
Perfect Tense Board Game This ‘Tense Quest’ board game is the perfect activity to review or practice Perfect Tenses. Students will have fun moving around the playing board and answering the question cards by converting sentences into required tenses. Two versions of this game have been included; one where ‘will ‘is used with the subject in the future tense and one where ‘will’ and ‘shall’ have been used in the future tense depending on the subject used (I shall, we shall everyone else will). This is the WILL version. This game acts as a good listening and memory recall activity as well. It requires one of the other game members to read the sentence to the player in order for them to convert it. Students then practice listening for all the information, remembering it and then recalling it once they have converted it. (I do wish to add that the QR code version can be read by the player them self if you so wish, but the version without the QR codes needs to be read by another player as the answer is on the card.) As said above, this game is offered with and without QR codes. QR codes add an extra dimension to the game as it incorporates technology, which students are so familiar with. Students can download a free QR Code Reader onto their phones or hand held devices and then use it to scan the codes to reveal the answers. Only one device is needed per group. The version without accommodates those classes without access to handheld device. This game is also offered in colour and printer –friendly black and white. I printed the ‘Card Back’ (found at the end of the document) onto coloured paper and then pasted to the back of the question cards to make different coloured sets, to avoid my cards from getting mixed up. Look out for my Simple Tense and Continuous Tense versions of this game. They follow the same structure so that the different versions can be added to the existing game as they are covered in class. Should you have any queries or suggestions you can contact me at margauxlangenhoven@gmail.com Happy teaching! Margaux

Direct Speech Task Cards

Direct Speech Task Cards

(0)
This set of Direct Speech task cards aims to provide an opportunity for students to improve their understanding and ability to apply the direct speech rules. I have used images of iPhones with text messages which students need to convert into Direct Speech. The content of the text messages includes silly jokes. Together, the text messages and jokes, should make learning meaningful (text messages are part of everyday life) and fun. This set contains 24 different task cards. These cards are offered with and without QR codes. When scanned, the QR code reveals the memorandum, making the task cards self-correcting. For classes that do not have access to the needed technology, a set without QR codes and a memorandum has also been provided. In order to scan a QR code, students would need to download a free QR code scanner app. They then hover the scanner over the code and the answer is then revealed on their screen. Should you have any queries or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me at margauxlangenhoven@gmail.com. I trust your students will benefit from this activity. Margaux
