Worksheets based on the film “Ferdinand” about a bull who doesn’t want to be a fighter. I used this with my lower set Spanish group who are not continuing after the end of year 9. The film and resources are in English, but have cultural references to Spain and there are also quite a few Spanish words to spot. Linked to this , we also did a lesson debating bull fights. This resource includes: Main Character summaries, comprehension questions and answers on the film trailer, comprehension questions and answers on the whole film. There are 45 questions on the whole film comprehension question sheet. Unfortunately, I have had to hide a lot of them, as TES are showing far too much in the preview! When you purchase the resource, just delete the black boxes covering some of the sheets.

This is a reading activity aimed at Year 10/11 on the topic of “Social Issues”. It focuses on the FSJ (Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr) so is ideal for the part of the course on “voluntary work”. The reading text itself is quite challenging (as it is adapted form an authentic resource), but I have also included a vocab list and underlined the words in the text which are included on it. Two verb wheel templates for forming the perfect tense in German. One is for “haben” verbs and one for “sein”, although if you wanted, you could save card/photocopying charges by putting "haben"on one side and “sein” on the other. The sections have been left blank for students to enter their own verbs, but a 3rd slide has been provided with lists of suggested verbs. Obviously, you can choose different verbs or even type the rest in for them to make the activity quicker. I have tried to choose verbs most commonly used by secondary school students. You will also need some split pins for this activity. I’m going to use it as an end of term activity for my year 9 classes who will then put them in their folders at the beginning of year 10.

This is a document I used to help students write about our recent trip to the Rhineland, although it could be adapted for other areas. It could either be used while on the trip to help students write a diary entry each evening, or after the trip. I get them to choose one of the days which they then write up on a post card to send home.
