4 Biography Poster Activity Sheets 8.5" x 11"
I've made two versions so that you can differentiate based on your students' abilities.
Version 1, for older students, has smaller lines and more information required.
Version 2 for lower elementary students has larger lines and less information required.
Both of these also have a no line version.
Students can add their own decorative touches to it after they fill it out.
Make a class book with this cover and writing pages. Great activity to use in a center, for a substitute, or homework.
Includes:
1. Color cover to print "Needs vs. Wants"
2. 2 writing pages with prompt "I want.....but I don't need it."
3. 2 blank writing pages with primary and regular lines for your own prompt.
You are purchasing 2 figurative language games ready to print.
These are a fun way to reinforce the literary device concepts and vocabulary! Perfect for a Center activity since it is self-checking!
Game #1: simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole
Game #2: puns, alliteration, idiom, onomatopoeia
For each game, there are 8 game cards for each concept, 32 total. Each card has a color graphic on it that matches a box on the Answer Board. After a student states which literary device is being used, he places it on the Answer Board on top of the matching clip art. If the answer was correct, he gets to color in a square on the reproducible Game Board. Play goes back and forth until one student gets 4 In a Row colored.
It's easy to do variations of the game just like BINGO. Players can agree that they will get 5 in a row, or 4 in the shape of a stamp to win.
You will want to print these games ahead of time as a bit of preparation is needed. You will have to cut out the game cards and glue the 3 page answer board together.
You can photocopy the game board or mount it on construction paper and laminate it to use with vis a vis markers over and over again.
Here are 4+ activity sheets to print and use after you’ve read The Legend of the Poinsettia by Tomie dePaola, to your students.

Story Map - Students use words and/or pictures to fill in the characters, setting, beginning, middle, end, and moral of the story. (1 page)

Poinsettia Themed Writing Paper - Use these generic papers for your own writing prompts. There are 3 versions - each with 3 types of writing lines. (9 pages).
Great for those last days before the Winter Break or to leave for a substitute!
These Fall themed Dabber Activity worksheets are a great way to help your students with their fine motor, counting, one-to-one recognition, vocabulary and letter recognition. Students use the BINGO Dauber, or dot markers, to press down on each circle just like BINGO players do.
Alternatively, if you do not have BINGO daubers, you can use manipulatives to cover the dots like pom poms and stickers (garage sale circle stickers are fun). Or even let those little fingers dip into paint!!
Choose between 2 VERSIONS of these Dot Dauber pages.

Then they make (DO) the poster. Finally, after they print it, they REVIEW what they liked about their poster and what they would do differently next time.
I've done this project successfully with 1st grade students just beginning to learn basic computer skills. Step by step teacher directions are provided so you can break the project into simple tasks for the students.
