I have used Stop Motion animation with my Kindergarten and 1st graders over the past few years in the Media Center.
In this presentation, you will find step-by-step directions on how to teach your students how to use an iPad and the iMotion HD app to create stop motion animation movies.
I share how to make this work and the tips I learned along the way - from planning to presenting so that you can hit the ground running.

This is a FUN way for your students to review finding call numbers in your library!
There are 3 sets of Scavenger Hunt Task Cards to cover the Easy, Fiction and Nonfiction areas of your library. Each set has 12 task cards to find, so there are 36 Task Cards total. For the questions, I used books and book series that would most likely be found in the majority of elementary libraries.
Blank answer sheets are provided in which the clip art matches the card they are hunting.
Answers are included.
EDITABLE!! These are PowerPoint files and totally editable since I used Creative Commons clip art. Add or change anything you wish to meet the needs of your library!
* Please note: This file has a license for one teacher to use/modify for his/her classroom only. This file is not for commercial use and may not be modified and resold.
This activity has been tested and used in my elementary school Media Center for years. Students LOVE it!
This file has TWO complete Call Number Scavenger Hunts for your library. Each game has two jokes that the students will find the answers to, word by word, as they locate call numbers in the library where you have hidden the Clue Cards provided.
The file is editable, so you can change any call numbers that you do not use in your library easily.
Since the students will not have had enough with these two games, you can also use it as a template to make more scavenger hunts!!
Answer keys provided.
Everyone likes to make a snowman!! This is an exciting introduction to the Super 3 Research Process for your Kindergarten-2nd grade students. During an excellent snow year, my husband and I went outside and made an awesome snowman following the steps of the Super 3: Plan, Do, Review. We ran into problems to solve along the way, too!
Use this PowerPoint to introduce your students to the process. At the end of the lesson, let them make their own snowmen!
I've had students make snowmen on a computer drawing program, with paper and glue, and on black paper with chalks. I found snowman parts to print with a simple Google search and cut them out for my special education students to make a snowman. They still got to plan because they had to choose the parts and how to glue them on. So many ways to make a snowman!
I left it editable if you want to add your own twist to the presentation!
Use these Happy New Year! Incentive Charts to mark reading or behavior progress with individual students, groups or classes. Use stamps, stickers or even your initials to mark off the squares. Charts are 4x5 inches and there are 4 charts per page.
