KS3 Crime Scene Investigation Activities
A sequence of 6 activities involving analysing a crime scene to identify a murderer.
Suitable for upper KS3 students.
Lessons involve:
analysing fingerprints
analysing hairs
extracting DNA
distillation of water/alcohol
analysing soil samples
role play
I taught this to a group of home-educated students, who also helped to design the characters. Adjustments can be made to characters to better suit your own students. The crime could also be changed to a burglary instead (with the murder victim unconscious instead)
