A fun, foldable cut-and-paste activity for exploring the life cycle of a spider. This hands-on resource is a combination of a craft and a science worksheet that you could use for a bugs, arachnids, autumn or Halloween activity. Some teachers have even linked it to the book Charlotte’s Web. The template options There are 4 options so you can select and print the one that best suits your needs and differentiate for your class if required: Template 1: Pupils colour the template and life cycle pictures, match the word or description labels to the images, glue, cut, and fold. Template 2: As above but with an easy-cut outline around the web. Template 3: Pupils colour the template and life cycle pictures, cut out the 4 life cycle stages, and arrange them in order, glue, cut, and fold. As with templates 1 and 2, there is an option to use the stage name or short descriptions. Template 4: Same as template 3 but with an easy-cut outline around the web. Instructions for students are provided as well as a folding guide with pictures. What else is included? Additional printable pages are provided to complement the foldout activity, or to use with early finishers. These fun foldouts are a memorable way of teaching or re-enforcing the planets in our solar system and their order. Use as a science centre, for an interactive notebook or to support learning around space, including World Space Week. There are 3 similar options to choose from: Students colour the template with the planets in order (from nearest to the sun to furthest away). They also colour the 2 halves of the space scene. They then cut out the template and space scene, glue the space scene to the top and bottom of the template, then fold. The second option is the same, but students will cut out and order the planets before gluing and folding. For the third option, students match simple facts to each of the planets before cutting and folding the template. Please note, the planets are not drawn to scale. This resource is not editable. Folding guidance with images is included. Versions for both US and UK paper sizes and spelling are included.

Give your life cycle studies a Halloween twist with this set of foldouts. This resources features templates for the life cycles of a bat, owl, pumpkin and spider. You could use them to compare the life histories of a bird, mammal, plant and arachnid. They are also great for interactive science notebook or as science centres. Each life cycle has options that allow you to differentiate for your pupils. Spider life cycle There are 3 options so you can select and print the one that best suits your needs and differentiate for your students if required: Colour the template, cut and fold. Colour, sequence the simple life cycle name labels, glue cut and fold. Colour, sequence the life cycle stage description labels, glue cut and fold. This is the option in the preview video. A science craft activity which can be differentiated if required. Use to support learning about ecosystems, feeding relationships and habitats. This resource has templates for 3 food chains (lion, grizzly bear and shark). For each one there are 3 similar options; Colour the pre-designed template, with animals and plants already included and fold. Colour the food chain, sequence the animals/plants to show who eats who, glue them onto the template, cut and fold. As above but with a simpler, straight cutting edge. Once folded, pupils can hide their food chain by bringing the 2 halves of the template together, then gently pull apart to reveal the inside (see preview video). There is minimal prep required. Print the designs you plan to use on paper or card. Students need coloured pencils, scissors and glue. Instructions for how to fold are included (you may wish to make an example beforehand for those who might find folding tricky). There is a version for both US and UK spelling/paper size.

Every child is unique and special. Help build their self-confidence and self-esteem with this foldout activity, where pupils reflect on what makes them proud to be themselves. Use this fun alternative to a worksheet as part of a self-esteem or an upper KS1/lower KS2 PSHE lesson that will leave kids glowing with self-love and confidence. This printable activity has 14 face templates with different hairstyles (and a girl wearing a hijab). Each is included with and without a rectangle outline to make the activity more accessible for those children who might struggle to cut around the outside of their template. Pupils start by colouring their template to look like them. Each template asks children to fill in the following with words and pictures: -3 positive words that describe me (there is a word bank to help with this one). -I am good at… -I feel proud when I… -I am a good friend because… These prompts are not editable. Print the templates you need on paper or card. Make sure you have lots of coloured pencils, particularly in skin tones. Pupils will need scissors but glue/tape are not required. This foldable sequencing activity allows pupils to order the stages of making/baking gingerbread. It is designed to help develop thinking and fine motor skills. The PDF is 8 pages, including prep notes and instructions. You could add the finish foldouts to interactive notebooks, use this to support learning around The Gingerbread Man story, or as a fun Christmas activity. Pupils cut out the stages, put them in order on the template, before cutting and folding. They will love bringing the 2 halves of their gingerbread foldout together, then gently pulling it apart to show the stages inside. There are 3 similar versions included, including one with a straight cutting edge for those children who would struggle to cut around the outside of the gingerbread man. UK and US paper sizes/spelling also included, as well as a picture guide showing how to fold. The folding can be tricky for some children so you may want to make an example to reference before delivering this activity with your class.
