Combine St Patrick’s Day and science with these fun leprechaun dichotomous keys.
This resource gives students the opportunity to practice their skills with 2 variations of dichotomous keys (with couplets and with branches).
There are options for both print and digital. A link to the digital Google Slides version is contained in the teacher notes file.
The print and digital versions are not identical, although they cover the same skills.

This is an activity that can be used all year round, or tie into holidays like Valentine’s Day, Halloween or Christmas.
A US and UK version is included.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your class by creating foldout cards featuring sweet, personal messages. This Valentine’s activity sees children colour a patterned heart, and write to their Valentine using the prompts on the template. They can then cut everything out, glue, and fold. Children can then give their completed card to a friend, parent, relative, or another special person.

Help your students recall the phases of the moon in a hands-on way with this set of differentiated foldouts. The finished foldouts look great in an interactive science notebook and can be used to support learning around space, the solar system, the Earth’s moon/lunar phases or for World Space Week. A science craft activity which can be differentiated if required. Use to support learning about ecosystems, feeding relationships and habitats.
This resource has templates for 3 food chains (lion, grizzly bear and shark). For each one there are 3 similar options;
Colour the pre-designed template, with animals and plants already included and fold.
Colour the food chain, sequence the animals/plants to show who eats who, glue them onto the template, cut and fold.
As above but with a simpler, straight cutting edge.
Once folded, pupils can hide their food chain by bringing the 2 halves of the template together, then gently pull apart to reveal the inside (see preview video).

These fun foldouts are a memorable way of teaching or re-enforcing the planets in our solar system and their order. Use as a science centre, for an interactive notebook or to support learning around space, including World Space Week.
There are 3 similar options to choose from:
Students colour the template with the planets in order (from nearest to the sun to furthest away). They also colour the 2 halves of the space scene. They then cut out the template and space scene, glue the space scene to the top and bottom of the template, then fold.
The second option is the same, but students will cut out and order the planets before gluing and folding.
