We learn the meaning of relevant terms, have a brief look at the Spanish Civil War, we look at Franco’s dictatorship, the monarchy in Spain since 1975, the coup attempt in 1981 and finally we learn about Fidel Casto, Augusto Pinochet and Nicolas Maduro.

The different ppts explore causes and effects of migration, as well as focusing on current cases such as the crossing of the border at Ceuta and Melilla, Trump’s Mexican Wall, La Caravana from Honduras and Guatemala and the rescue ship “Open Arms”. This is done through links to videos and articles and statements and questions to encourage discussion.

Set of 4 ppts to aid the teaching and learning of the AQA A’Level Spanish Y13 Theme 3 Multiculturalism in Hispanic Society, Unit Unit 3 “La Convivencia”. The different ppts explore how Islamism, Christianism and Judeism cohabited in the Iberian peninsula from the 8th to the 15th centuries, and how that peaceful cohabitation came to an end with the arrival of Los Reyes catolicos. Secondly we learn about the integration of migrant children in Spanish schools. We also learn about the 2 main fights for independentism in Spain, “el separatismo vasco and ETA” and “el nacionalismo catalan and el referendum”. Finally we look at what the Spanish Constitution says about the relation between the State and the different religions, as well as the initiative “Rezo Interreligioso”, which promotes religious integration.
