Vowels: Consonants: Vowels and Consonants Posters: These posters are great for your literacy centers, word walls, focus walls or anywhere that you want your kids to remember the vowels and consonant sounds. The explanation for each term is catchy and helps kids to pay attention to their breath which is what vowels and consonants are all about. Alphabet Letter Writing:
Alphabet Letter writing Visual Cues Posters and Cards: My students had a little difficulty with the formation of some letters so I did some sketches on the whiteboard to help them remember the directions and start points. I decided to transfer those sketches in the form of visual cue cards and posters to help other teachers who may face similar problems. Alphabet Letter Writing Visual Cues Poster and Cards is what I came up with for that purpose.
This resource contains cards for the letters that pose a challenge to our young and budding writers; These are w, m, u, n, h, t, f and z only
. I hope it proved helpful to you as it is for me and my kiddos.

Homophone Memory Sheets are a fantastic way to get your students to remember the spelling of confusing homophones. Research has shown that when students use drawings and illustrations with words they make meaningful associations thus facilitating easy recall. Let your kiddos draw their own pictures to remember the homophones. In the case of low imagery words that cannot be depicted students can either find their own unique way to remember the word or simple leave it blank. The trick is that the other word in the pair would help them to make that distinction in spelling. Students can compile the sheets and form their own homophone dictionary for future reference.
Included in this set is a blank template for adding more pairs to the set.

TIPS: To ensure that every child has an opportunity and responsibility assign two students per job. This also encourages job-sharing or working together as a partnership. You can either designate the jobs to students, have them choose or apply for a position A good idea is to rotate the jobs either daily, weekly, or quarterly, it’s your choice. You can make the transitions easier by having a “training” session by the previous student to help the next student to do the job efficiently.
If you want your students to become responsible while building a community spirit, give them responsibilities. Classroom Jobs are a great way for students to take responsibility for their classroom.
This simple mini book allows young students to write simple sentences that capture the true meaning of Christmas. Each page contains engaging graphics that makes writing both fun and engaging as they color and write about different Christmas elements that can be quite familiar to them. This makes a great activity for students ages 5 to 7.
These cards can be used to assist young students to visually grasp this somewhat difficult concept. They would be able to trace their own sequencing ideas in which stories and events can occur. Students get an opportunity to:-
-Follow directions
-Discriminate between pictures
-Improve visual awareness
-Retell stories and events in sequence
-Build oral vocabulary skills
-Build narrative (story) skills
-Improve sequencing skills
-Ask and answer “wh” questions themselves for clarity
SUGGESTED USE:
These simple picture cards are lots of fun to sequence! Kids will arrange them in logical order to complete each sequence. Use these simple COLOR-CODED picture sequencing cards to practice sequencing in 4-scene sets with your young detectives.
DIFFERENTIATION/EXTENSION:
For students having difficulty with sequences it is suggested that you scaffold learning by working individually with them as a guide on the side, gradually releasing support as time goes by. To start, simply select one sequence set and present the final picture first to allow him or her to see the BIG PICTURE. Then have the student place the remaining pictures in the correct order back up to the beginning to complete the sequence.
For the stronger students you can challenge them to write the story in sequence using the cards as a guide. They can write two or three sentences about each card then ultimately putting sentences together to create their own piece.
CONTENTS OF RESOURCE:
This set includes:
–>4-Scene Sequencing Cards
There are 80 cards that form 20 sequences
Each card measures 2.83" x 3.5". Each set is COLOR-coded to facilitate easy ordering.
–>2 four-scene mats
–>1 Story/Event Sequencing writing sheet
Simply print the cards and mats and laminate for longevity. This set makes a great center activity.
