Beginning Middle End: Sound Center Cards: This is an editable powerpoint for your customization. Simply edit or remove the text boxes as desired and print selected page. After editing I suggest that you save the file under another name to avoid permanently altering the original file. You can delete beginning, middle or end phonemes for students to insert. Another alternative is to delete all the letters so that they write them in. I included small picture cards to aid mastery. The pages or sections that cannot be edited are specifically marked. Enjoy! Prereading Strategy for Nonfiction Texts- THIEVES
a_teachers_ideaa_teachers_idea

Prereading Strategy for Nonfiction Texts- THIEVES

(0)
How can your students get meaning from nonfiction texts? This can be done by checking for THIEVES. THIEVES is an active prereading strategy that allows students to skim and scan then summarise the information from informational texts before they actually begin reading the text. The acronym is explained as: “T” for title, “H” for headings, “I” for introduction, “E” for every first sentence, “V” for visuals and vocabulary, “E” for end of chapter questions, and “S” for summary. Your students can use this strategy to preview textbooks and other informational texts when they do not have an opportunity to read the entire selection. Although this is very useful remind your students that making time for the full reading of a text is the better way to go!

Back to School Classroom Rules - {Bright Stripes}

(0)
Classroom Rules. It is always a good idea to set your class on the right path from day one. It is also a good idea to create the rules with your students. However, I want to share some baseline rules that I believe can transcend any classroom simply because they collectively spell out most of what teachers would want for their classrooms. The following rules are contained in this set:- We enter our classroom quietly and all lined up. We leave our classroom quietly and all lined up. We listen when others are talking, especially our teacher. We look carefully and follow the directions of our teacher. We use a quiet voice and tone. We only speak louder when presenting. We are kind and respectful to our teachers and to each other. We help keep our classroom clean and tidy at all times.. We always keep our hands and feet to ourselves. We raise our hands when we have a question or when we need help. We share with our friends when they are in need. We work quietly at our desks and do not disturb our neighbors. We walk carefully in the classroom and hallway. We always greet our visitors with a smile when they enter our classroom. I am pretty sure that they cover a wide area. However, if you are in need of additions to this set, let me know through the question and answer tab below.. The Real Easter Story Mini Book

(0)
The Real Easter Story is a two-in-one mini book (you get two copies per page) created with images that should appeal to young children. The sentences are simple, however, the vocabulary may pose a challenge to some. Therefore I would recommend that some assistance be given to students. This product comes in black and white only to facilitate easy printing and of course to allow students to color the pages themselves. The pages are set for double sided printing. I also included both a colored and a black and white version of the mini-book cover page for you. Enjoy! Nicole
