Verbs: Time To Play!- Helpful Color Coded Cards for Practicing Simple Verb Tenses: Time To Play is a helpful set of color coded cards for reviewing simple verb tenses. It gives students the opportunity to review and practice inflectional verb endings, forming present tense, past tense and future tense using colorful illustrations in a way that your kids will have fun. Past tense pictures are grayscaled Present tense pictures are full colored Future tense pictures are blue scaled. This set is perfect for your literacy centers or for individual students. Simply print, laminate and cut cards either as formatted or you can cut them for sorting by tense. I also included a blank card for your students to make their own. A sentence worksheet is included for extended writing using their cards. Writing Prompts Very often our kids need as much guidance as they can get to take away the negative attitude they may have towards writing tasks. As a fun activity I created 'Spin, Select and Write' to bring possitivity to the writing experience. This resource contains color coded writing prompts and writing sheets along with a spin board for general topic selection. Simply print the pages, mount the spin board and print as many colored writing sheets for your paper pool. The prompt cards can be laminated, cut and placed in recycled aluminum tins or other containers. All your kiddos need to do is spin the arrow and choose prompt card of the same color that the arrow shows. They can choose the same color writing sheet to begin free writing. **SUGGESTION** These writing sheets can be used also as your students first draft pieces. You can make each student rewrite the entire story that they began, correcting all grammar and punctuation mistakes. After they go through the other stages of the writing process they finally get to re-write them on new sheets and keep in a separate folder for publication. I included blank slides so that you can create your own prompt cards.

Classroom Rules This is a set of both positive and negative classroom behaviour sorting cards that can double up to create a reminder poster for young students. This is a way for them to recognize acceptable and unacceptable behaviours and to keep their behaviour in check. The cards can be used over and over or they can be permanently mounted either on the teacher’s desk facing the students or on the classroom wall or door. The teacher may choose to discuss each scenario depicted while students get an opportunity to place each one where they belong. Cause and Effect Worksheets Your students will identify causes and corresponding effects in this activity. There are two story cards for each story. One of the pictures is a cause and the other is an effect. These fun cards are a great literacy center warm-up for Cause and Effect units or for writing activities. Help students develop number relationships and the concept of number order with this simple math center activity created for beginning learners. This is a great activity that engages your students and provides a visual cue using an easy interactive slider. A black and white version is included in this set. Counting back and counting up are mental strategies that are used to subtract numbers that are close together. These mental strategies help students find the difference between numbers by counting up (on their fingers) from the smaller number to the larger number to keep track of the numbers or counting back from the larger number to larger number. The answer is the number of counts.
