They then ‘quiz’ their partner by reading out an English sentence for them to translate. Once both partners have done a translation, they swap cards and find another partner. The answer is on the cards so students can check that they are right. I like to give students a certain amount of time and for them to see how many conversations they can have in that time.

A word search and translation worksheet on the topic of 'die Zukunft'. It is a great way to introduce the vocabulary and for the students to start manipulating the language straight away. It would also make a great cover work task.

I have used this reading resource with numerous groups from year 7 to GCSE. It revises opinion phrases and 'weil' clauses. The students enjoy this reading comprehension as they learn a bit about German culture too! It is a staged reading which could also be used for cover.
