I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

This is an attempt to relate algebraic questions that children struggle with to worded questions they can all do. It is designed to start you off, building up from 'I think of a number' to a full blown linear equation.

Forming and solving equations in a functional way. How Many MP4 Players In A Box? - Equations. It's an attempt to make solving equations more accessible, including multiplying out brackets.

Some quizzes on fun maths facts. Ideal for KS3 and KS4 students. I decided to do a maths quiz in the style of a pub quiz - hope you enjoy it. It's supposed to be a bit of fun, end of term type thing.

These three powperpoints are designed to lead people through multiplying out brackets. I would suggest searching for Alex Bellos' different ways of doing long multiplication on YouTube as they link nicely in with the first bit of the 'Multiplying out 2 brackets' presentation and are a bit of fun too.
