I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

Transforming Shapes Codebreaker 2

This one uses coordinates to get to the joke; I’m actually quite pleased with myself over this joke as it is self-referencing. This also involves reflection, rotation and translation.

Coffee Spill Crisis - Two-Way Tables

(6)
Two-way tables, filling in the missing information. I needed some questions on this for a lesson and struggled to find what I was looking for so wrote this. Typos now corrected!

Clumsy Clive On Function Notation

(7)
New on the GCSE syllabus, Clive is struggling with function notation icluding inverse and composite functions. Can your students check, correct and explain what Clive has done wrong in the four questions? This should encourage discussion.

Erica's Errors On Functions and Graphs

(12)
Erica's got yet more homework that she's struggling with, this time on modulus inequalities, sketching functions, finding inverses and composite functions. As usual she needs someone to explain what's gone wrong and correct her work. Designed to create discussion between students and between teachers and students.

Bargain Hunt Ratio

A themed episode of Bargain Hunt and some ratio problems to solve as a result. Some worded questions for students to pick the bones out of.

KS3 - Angry Birds Maths - Algebra Worksheets

Calculate the points I'd score by destroying these pigs and then calculate the formulae for calculating the total score. It's designed to make algebra more relevent. Smart board file to save printing once more!

Linear Graphs Cut, Match and Stick Activity - GCSE

(4)
This is a great GCSE activity in which students match each equation to its gradient, y-interceptor and the co-ordinate on it. I wrote this in order to get across the idea of y=mx+c plus the fact that it describes the link between the x and y co-ordinates.

Disco Stu Regular Polygon Properties

This is just anoither effort at getting students to remember facts about polygons. You can use the worksheet with the powerpoint/Notebook files or without. The powerpoint has an embedded video of Disco Stu from the Simpsons but otherwise the two are the same.
Equations of Lines Codebreakers

Equations of Lines Codebreakers

(4)
The usual lame jokes and two different codebreakers. The first one is just putting the gradient and the y-intercept to y=mx+c and a little bit of simple rearranging. The second sheet gives two co-ordinates and you need to find the equation of the line.

Tetris 2 - Angles in Shapes - Worksheet

(3)
The designers of the classic game Tetris want to produce a more difficult version of the game. Can you help decide which shapes will fit together with no gaps? This is centred around interior angles of regular shapes and tessellation.

Save Our Satellite - Simultaneous Equations

Save Our Satellite - Simultaneous Equations: Trying to find a real life example of where we might solve simultaneous equations graphically I came up with this. Students have to plot to linear graphs and find the point of impact. You could bring in Pythagoras and find out if the two bodies were travelling at the same speed would they actually collide, but I wanted to keep the worksheet to one side of A4.
Binomial Expansion Codebreakers

Binomial Expansion Codebreakers

There are two codebreakers, each furnished with a terrible joke. The first deals with positive powers only, the second deals with fractional and negative powers. Designed for a quick homework or plenary.
