I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

Reflection Worksheet

I just wanted a reasonably simple reflection worksheet for some lower ability students so came up with this and it seemed to challenge them.

Do the calculations involving the words 'sum', 'difference', 'product' and 'quotient' - colour in the correct squares then scan thew QR code to take you to Cherry Ghost's 'Mathematics'. Kids love it!

Conclusions From Statistical Graphs

This is a pretty simple idea for various abilities where you display a graph and the class have to write down all that the graph tells them, in full sentences! I have included a couple of misleading graphs too, which adds a bit of differentiation.

QR Code Puzzle 19 - FDP of a Number

Answer the questions - if the answer is an even number colour in the question number in the grid; if the answer is odd or not a whole number then leave it blank. When they have finished they scan the QR code and if correct it will take them to the Depeche Mode video for 'Walking In My Shoes', for no other reason than I had already created the QR code.

Defuse The Bomb - Powers

Powers calculations to get correct so that the student can defuse the bomb successfully. This is based upon squares and cubes but ventures into other powers of 2 and 10.

Answer the questions, colour in the answers that are even, leave blank the answers that are odd, use your Smartphone to scan the resultant QR code to get a link to Joyzipper's song '1' (it&'s a great song, and I can heartily recommend the album too). My lot(s) love it!

Angle Properties Spiders

(2)
Six "spiders" on six different sets of angle properties starting with "on a line", "around a point", "triangles", "polygons", "parallel lines" and "circle theorems". The final two require students to name the property used and I have left a couple of the parallel lines with the answers filled in so that students can draw their own diagram. The activity is designed to create discussion.
Sequence Matching

Sequence Matching

(2)
Four sets of sequences for students to match with their nth terms. there is always one extra sequence which doesn't match and this requires students to find the nth term. It's designed to generate discussion. The five sets get increasingly difficult and are all arithmetic until the final two sets which are all quadratic sequences, the first lot being relatively easy, the second not so.
