I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

Monaco Lap - Speed-Time Graph

Using a pole position lap from Nico Rosberg in 2014 can the class firstly sketch a speed-time graph and then draw it using some speeds and times from the lap itself. I have included links to the video and embedded the video into the Powerpoint (I couldn't get a good enough copy for Notebook).

Race Days - Speed-Time Graphs

From the map of the circuits can you guess which speed-time graph goes with which graph? This can either be done as an "on the board" activity with discussion as a class or with worksheets as small group discussions. I would suggest that this is quite challenging but happy to be proven wrong! It uses real race tracks and their maps.

I got this idea from Tristan Jones @tris206 who had similar thing which I liked on TES, so I produced my own. I have purposely used a quite obscure joke so that it can't be guessed! The transformations involved are reflection, rotation and translation. For those who downloaded it very quickly, there's a second one!

Lark Ices and Stannister Dairy differ over metric and imperial measures too. Activities range from converting metric measures to comparing imperial and metric in a battle for ice cream dominance of Easteros!

Symmetry Homework

I was really struggling for a symmetry homework so I wrote this involving line and rotational symmetry, plus a QR code that links to a video that I found on YouTube in case the students get stuck. Nothing flashy just 3 questions.

Can you help the designers at Kelvin Kline complete their symmetrical collection of dresses and t-shirts for next season? Involves reflective and rotational symmetry.

Some shapes' symmetrical properties need describing, starting with simple mathematical shapes and moving to other stuff (potential for discussion if you are that way inclined) and then completing a few diagrams to give them symmetrical properties (simple GCSE questions).

I’ve no idea where I got these (if they were yours then message me and I will give credit as it’s certainly due) but I only had a paper copy so I have typed them up because I use them every year. They do exactly what they say on the tin. I have added my own one with slightly harder shapes entitled Cake Joke, but it’s the same thing (error corrected).
