An information sheet on the effects & responses management of the great barrier reef KS3 or GCSE. Links to all key learning needed for impacts & responses to an ecosystem. It covers all of the key words & links well to SEN students & G & T. It can be used t create a mindmap, storyboard, diary or just to answer questions.
A selection of activities that pupils can use mid-way through or at the end of a unit or to top up learning at any point during the course. Students watch a video clip/clips or DVD on the subject. They then add detail to the mindmap. The GCSE question in the centre of the page links all of the content back to a GCSE context. Pupils complete this in purple pen to top up learning & demonstrate understanding. Tricky SPaG has been identified & pupils copy it 3 times. The resources cover much of what schools are asking for, in terms of topping up learning.

This is a great task that asks students: What would we do if an asteroid was going to hit the earth?
It looks at the countries that would be effected, which involves some mapping & maths work.
It then goes on to looking at what the earths options would be. They choose what to do.
Finally pupils look at who they would choose to save.
