2D Shape matching and sorting activities

This fun shape sorting activity is perfect for your nursery, reception or SEN classroom. The adorable hands-on shape activities are perfect for your math centers. Use it for both independent or small group activities. Included: 12 match the shape cards which are provided in both colour and printer friendly black and white versions 12 2D shape clip cards 6 real life shape mats and pictures of real objects to sort and match to the given shape Matching cards: I like to laminate these so they can be used again and again. Some teachers like to take the matching cards a step further by adding velcro. It’s up to you. To use lay out the shape cards and pupils match the cards to their given shape. The black and white version can be used as an assessment or pupils may enjoy colouring their own set to personalise it. Clip cards: The children identify the shape using a paper clip or clothes peg to the matching shape. The game includes 12 cards and can be modified to fit the needs of your students by adding or removing cards. Real life shape mats: I like to laminate these. Pupils can first identify their shape on the mat and then go on to sort out the real life pictures which match the shape on the mat. Trees Clip Cards

(0)
These clip cards are a great way for students to practice their knowledge of deciduous and coniferous trees using a multiple choice system. 32 cards are included which cover a wide range of trees and their parts using bold images. Each card has two possible answers. Students select the correct answer by clipping a clothespin, peg or paper clip to it. I like to laminate these cards so students can simply circle the correct answer using a dry erase marker. Alternatively, you can print these on paper to hand out to your class at the end of the lesson; pupils circle the correct answer and hand in as a great exit ticket or plenary to the lesson.
