Maths Entry Level Scheme of Work
A scheme of work i made based on OCRs specification, designed for our students who won't be entered for GCSE maths. The course is designed to be completed in about a year, but i'm thinking I&'ll need to be flexible with the timings and use the same scheme for year 10 and 11. Hope you find it useful
KS3 / GCSE. Box and Whisker with Avenger Cards
KS3 / GCSE statistics. A lesson i did introducing box and whisker plots jumping on the avengers band wagon. Pupils shuffle avenger cards and create a tem of 11 heroes and draw a box plot of thier power and cunning, comparing the two and comparing with a friend to see who has the best team. Pupils then add soldiers and super heroes to the team to see affects on thier plots. Along with the cards i have larder A4 cards for the start of the lesson when i get 7 kids up to go through th efirst two box plots on the powerpoint.
KS3 PowerPoint - The Simpsons Fractions
KS3 Activity. Simpsons activity. A set of cards with simpsons characters and fractions. The main activity of the lesson is to find how many sweets everyone in springfield ate if they were all given a bag of 24 sweets. A little starter on division and some animations showing how to split piles of sweets into given fractions. I used this with bottom set year 7 to start fractions and they liked it especially as i gave them all 24 skittles to help them practise ( i told them the 'S' stood for springfield).
Construction Instruction Slides
A series of slides showing how to do the various constructions. Includes perpendicular bisectors, angle bisector, ASA,SSS SAS triangles aswell as some loci. I wouldn't use these as a lesson, maybe would give it to pupils for revision or have it ready to pinch slides out of when i needed them.

A simple KS3 powerpoint showing adding and subtracting fractions with the same and different denominators. Tfere's a warm up on LCM and equivalent fractions and some queestions with answers at the end.
Cumulative frequency powerpoint with the avengers
GCSE Statistics. A little powerpoint showing how to create cf tables and graphs which jumps on the avengers band wagon. You need to watch it first because it will require talking over. Shows how to find median, upper and lower quartile and inter quartile range from cf graph. Last slide shows multiple data sets on one set of axis for discussion on comparisons. Might be a nice introduction.

P Level Maths Assessment - number
Assessment for Learning. This is my attempt at creating some form of assessment for secondary school pupils who are working on P levels, because i couldn't find anything. I&'ve made it by going through descriptions of the levels and trying to think of tasks. Hope you find it useful. There are questions to practise with. I intend to give it to students so they can take it home to revise from, these aren't intended to be full lessons. Hope you find it useful.
