Report Comments & Targets

(106)
A bank of comments and targets that I've used at the EBSD school I work at. Many of the comments are behaviour-based due to the nature of the school. May be usable by mainstream staff at this busy time of the year, with some changes. Hopefully it will help speed up the process of report writing for you. :)

The first of two files is an example proforma which can be used by schools to develop adequate and effective IEPs for their students. The second file is a bank of comments that I have been using for the past decade in completing IEPs at the EBSD school I work in. These can be easily adapted to your needs. I hope it proves helpful.

Ever wondered how much your students are actually learning? Ever thought some students just weren't 'getting it'? Ever felt like your students haven&'t been listening to you? Do this simple activity with them (individually or as a whole class) and see if you find any answers. Basic questions to see if students prefer to learn visually, by listening, or by getting 'hands-on'.

This simple-to-use planning sheet gives you the space to write all of the important things when planning without the need to spend hours ticking all the boxes. (N.B. Pictures, clipart and graphics contained within the planning sheet were obtained from Google Images.)

A small comments bank that I've used in my EBSD school over the past decade. Behavioural and academic comments all covered in a nice and easy table format where you can copy and paste and even add your own categories and comments. Enjoy!

Brain Gym Activity

After printing out the sheets in colour, you have a quick 2-3min activity for warming up the brains of your audience. Holding the sheets behind your back, show one sheet at a time asking your audience (students or a fun staff room teaser) to call out what colour the word is written in. NOTE: If they call out the word that is written down they are wrong. :)

London 2012 Olympics Day-by-Day Schedule

A simple set of A5 display sheets with the dates of the Olympics and which sports are being held on those days. Sports that are written in gold have medal opportunities. Made it to add to our Olympics display mural that we are developing at our school in the lead up to the Games. It may be a long way off, but no harm in starting to build the excitement!

First resource - 'What type of learner are you?' helps your students tell you how they best learn. A quick questionnaire and scoring system will inform you and your students as to whether they are auditory, visual, or kinaesthetic learners. Second resource - Student Target sheet is a general resource that can be used for any subject. It helps focus students on things they need to improve and allows them to focus on one or two things at a time throughout the year.
