32 unique animals on these cards including pets, farmyard animals, wild animals and a few extra.
Distribute the cards. The person with 'DEBUT' begins and asks the first question 'Qui a un hamster?' this prompts the next person who has the phrase 'J'ai un hamster' written on their card. They shout this out followed by their own question, 'Qui a un chien?' The game continues like this until the last person ends with 'La Fin!'
Excellent for vocabulary consolidation and to inject energy into the lesson. Gets pupils interacting and speaking and listening.
There are 11 different colour cards and 15 different school equipment cards. You may wish to combine these in order to give one card per pupil.
The pupil with the card ‘DEBUT’ begins and asks their question ‘Qui a bleu?’
The next pupil has a card saying ‘J’ai bleu’ and they shout this out before asking their own question ‘Qui a rouge?’
NB. You may prefer to use the French-Digit version of the cards which requires pupils to listen to the French ‘Qui a bleu?’ and answer ‘J’ai bleu or J’ai blue’. This increases the level of challenge.
The game continues, each pupil shouting out their card and prompting the next pupil until the last pupil arrives at ‘LA FIN’.
Once pupils are used to the game you will find that they enjoy racing against the clock. I usually do 2 or 3 rounds without the clock and then give them a chance to beat their record.

All the vocabulary you need on one A4 page for teaching places in town: use it as a learning mat, a homework sheet, a support sheet, an extension sheet, a revision sheet, a classroom poster...endless possibilities.
Also included: mini word clouds activity.
Excellent starter activity. Great for revision as well.
Could give out as an extension tool for early finishers. Give them out upon arrival and give them a time frame. At the end of the timeframe pupils go head to head in a 'bidding war'. Each pupil says how many they can translate and have to prove it. The highest bidder goes first- if he can get to his bid he wins, if he can't the next bidder goes and has to get to his highest bid to win.
A fantastic support for all year groups. Would be good to have in a cardboard folder pinned to the wall for reference or enlarged and used as a poster.
Print and laminate and use as a learning mat to boost confidence amongst new learners in the classroom. Great differentiation technique when dealing with mixed ability classes.
Use it as a speaking frame / a writing frame / a learning mat / a revision aid / an extension tool.
The PDF is in colour but looks nice printed in greyscale as well. I usually print and photocopy in greyscale but put the colour version on the IWB.
A bundle of 9 mini word cloud sheets, saving you over 50%.

A lovely triorama for places on town. Pupils cut out the square, fold and cut along the dashed line. They write a description of their town/their ideal town etc. then glue the two triangles together creating a pop up town. Makes a great display.
This resource includes a colour version for you to print and display as a model and a black and white version to print for pupils to colour and write own description.
Recently added for better value: places in town flashcards. If you had already bought both of these resources please email me for a free resource of your chocie at betsybelleteachesfrench@hotmail.com

Versatile worksheet: use to consolidate language following presentation / a homework / a revision sheet / a starter.
Top half is a word cloud with the words for French numbers. Instructions to cross off words they know, circle and look up ones they don't.
Bottom half is an 'odd one out' table prompting them to decide which is the odd one out and be prepared to explain why they made that choice.
Starter? Classroom talk? Such an engaging resource- my pupils can't get enough of this activity.
In pairs pupils do the quiz and find out what their ideal pet is. In the target language they ask things such as, 'tu aimes caresser les animaux?' and 'tu veux mettre ton animal dans un cage?' to reach a conclusion.
They LOVE it. But it is more than just a hook. The activity can be manipulated- pupils can use the structures within the quiz to produce a complex answer to the question 'as-tu un animal?' with a response such as 'oui, j'ai un animal, j'ai un chien car je préfère les grands animaux. Je voudrais avoir un lapin mais je ne veux pas mettre mon animal dans une cage. Je n'habite pas sur une ferme donc je n'ai pas de vaches mais j'ai un grand jardin et ma mère voudrait une chèvre car elle aime le fromage.'
(Obviously this will need some scaffolding perhaps in the form of a writing frame but how refreshing to bask in the joy of the final outcome!)
