This is a bundle of three presentations on Emily Davison, Emmeline Pankhurst and Millicent Fawcett, who all fought for votes for women. The Emmeline Pankhurst presentation covers Emmeline’s childhood, the suffrage movement, her protests, her imprisonment and the results of the movement. The presentation on Emily Davison covers Emily’s education, before moving onto her actions in the suffragette movement, her imprisonment and finally her death and legacy. The presentation on Millicent Fawcett covers her childhood, early political involvement and the successful suffrage movement. Please note that there are no photos of the women included, owing to copyright restrictions. The last part of each presentation includes some interesting questions to provoke discussion. Use these as part of a lesson or for an assembly for ages 5 - 11.

This is a bundle of comprehensions for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They are aimed at Year 2. The bundle contains two sets of booklets. There is one set of comprehensions about the celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which cover what a Platinum Jubilee is, how the Queen and others are celebrating, ways that children can get involved and green projects. The second set of comprehensions cover 70 years of British history and the history of the Queen’s reign. There is a section on each decade. There are three differentiated booklets for each topic. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘where,’ ‘who, ’ ‘which’ and ‘when’ questions and some multiple choice tick questions. Each activity contains a title page with useful words followed by four pages with short written extracts to read and 3-4 questions per page. The higher ability booklets have 14 questions and the middle and lower ability booklets each have 12 questions. Answers are also included. All of the PDF booklets are in the zip files. This is a 5 lesson French unit for beginners, perfect for using with KS2. It teaches children about France and French speaking regions. The lessons are: Lesson 1 - French Countryside - The children learn the vocabulary for places in the countryside in French e.g. lavender fields, rivers and mountains. Lesson 2 - Regions of France - The children learn the vocabulary to describe different regions of France e.g. In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, there are mountains. The lesson teaches children sentences to describe seven different regions. Lesson 3 - French Speaking Countries - The children learn the vocabulary to describe the landscape in different French speaking countries e.g. In Guadeloupe there are beaches. The children are taught sentences to describe eight French speaking countries or regions. Lesson 4 - Paris - The children learn about tourist sites around Paris and how to describe in French places they would like to visit e.g I would like to visit the Eiffel Tower. There is also a bit of information in English about each of the eight places that are mentioned. Lesson 5 - French Festivals - The children learn about six festivals. There is the French word for each festival, a little bit of information in English and two more French phrases linked to the festival. The plans all give details of a starter, how to teach the new vocabulary, followed by a combination of listening activities, speaking activities, reading/writing activities and plenary. Each lesson is highly interactive and allows children to practise a range of language skills. All resources needed for the lessons are included in the price.
