These Year 2 Summer Olympics themed maths questions are split into 3 differentiated levels. Each level contains 30 problems with answers. The questions cover all areas of the curriculum and are perfect for celebrating the Paris Olympic Games with your class!
The higher level (Super Super Challenge) contains questions covering the Year 2 curriculum and some questions from the Year 3 curriculum.
The intermediate level (Super Challenge) contains questions covering the Year 2 curriculum.
The lower level (Challenge) contains questions covering the Year 1 curriculum.

This resource contains 7 comprehension activities all about the world’s top football players. They are suitable for using with year 1 or lower ability year 2.
There are seven different footballers included:
Lionel Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo
Kevin de Bruyne
Harry Kane
Vinícius Júnior
Sam Kerr
Aitana Bonmatí
Each comprehension contains a short piece of text with words that can be predominantly sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help the children work out what they say. The text is followed by 5 simple questions. Each comprehension can be used individually or you can print them out together to create a booklet.
There are colour and black & white versions of the comprehensions. Answers are also included.
There is also a PowerPoint included in the pack containing a slide for each text so that you can go through the comprehensions before the children complete them. Each slide also contains 3 words that are trickier to sound out, with sound buttons underneath them. (The PowerPoint is not editable. Please click ‘Read Only’ to open.)

A collection of non-fiction comprehension activities for year 2 about three different sports personalities. Each booklet comes in 3 differentiated levels. They are all based on the reading SATs paper, containing a similar style of questions. They are also laid out in the same way as a SATs booklet to provide the children with greater experience.

The theme this year is ‘Reading is Magic’ and so I have chosen books that have a magical element or are from the fantasy genre. These are followed by one question on each of the books in the CBCA 2024 short list for ages 7-12.
You can use this as a starter, an assembly, a filler or a main activity. All questions are multiple choice and focus on popular modern books as well as classics. After you have chosen an answer for each question, click again and the correct answer changes colour. The PowerPoint is not editable. Please click ‘read only’ to open.
