A collection of 3 practice SATs SPaG papers for year 6. All three papers are based on a past SPaG paper 1. Each practice paper contains 50 questions focussing on a range of punctuation and grammar. Answers are also included. This includes tenses, sentence types, semi-colons, colons, brackets, hyphens, commas, subordinate clauses, prefixes, word classes, apostrophes, pronouns, synonyms and antonyms. The questions are formatted in the same way as the SATs papers, so the children are asked to circle, tick, fill in the missing gap and write full sentences. This resource contains seven pdf lesson plans to teach children all about the Easter story. They can all be used individually or as a whole unit for Lent and Easter. They are suitable for ages 7 -11. The seven lessons are: 1) Ash Wednesday/Start of Lent 2) Lent - Giving Something Up 3) Lent - Doing Good Deeds 4) Palm Sunday 5) The Last Supper 6) Good Friday 7) Easter Sunday Each plan contains detailed instructions, a list of objectives for three levels of abilities, a list of resources and cross-curricular links. The unit contains wide-ranging activities to maintain the children's interest, from poetry writing, to drama activities, to philosophical discussions. Each lesson contains an animated PowerPoint with a Bible story or relevant facts to help you teach the content of the lesson. (These are not editable. Please click 'Read Only' to open. A collection of 10 worksheets, 10 activities and 10 starters (in the form of a PowerPoint) to use with your year 6 class in the run-up to SATs. The ten topics covered are those that my class were finding difficult, so I decided they needed a bit of extra revision! The worksheets use questions that are based on the SATs SPaG papers, plus a few extras. The activities are perfect for group work and prepare your class for SATs in a more interactive way. The slideshow can be used for fillers, starters or plenaries. You can also put the three together to make 30 minute lessons on these tricky topics! For example, start with the slideshow to recap prepositions, before splitting your class into groups to do the interactive activity. Finish with an individual worksheet to check each child’s understanding. This resource is a non-fiction comprehension booklet for year 2. It is all about habitats and covers what a habitat is, followed by a short look at deserts, oceans, cities, rainforests, woodlands and seashores. It is split into 3 differentiated levels. There is a different booklet for each level. Each booklet contains a title page with helpful words, followed by four pages of pictures with short written extracts to read and 2-3 questions per page. There are a range of ‘what,’ ‘how,’ ‘which’ and ‘why’ questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. Answers are also included. I have included colour and black & white versions of each of the 3 levels. The preview pages show the title page and one of the comprehension pages, from the middle ability booklets. PDF file format.

Jewish holiday of Purim - 3 Lesson Plans - KS1

This is a set of three lesson plans to teach children about the fun Jewish holiday of Purim. It is suitable for ages 4-7. The plans are very detailed (9 pages plus resources). These lessons could be taught at any time of the year. Lesson 1 contains a brief overview of Judaism and Purim. Lesson 2 focuses on the story of brave Queen Esther. Lesson 3 teaches the children about how Jewish people celebrate Purim. Each lesson starts with a carpet session. The children then split into five groups for activities. These include drawing, storytelling, dressing up and crafts. Across the three lessons the children have the opportunity to do all of the activities. The plans could be combined into one lesson with the children only doing one or two activities. There are three differentiated levels of objectives. There is an optional 18 slide PowerPoint to accompany the lessons which tells the story of Queen Esther and how Jewish people celebrate Purim. (This is non-editable. This resource is a comprehension booklet aimed at Lower Key Stage 2 (7-9 yrs). It is a playscript adapted from Shakespeare’s play of** A Midsummer Night’s Dream**. The story is a romance and comedy and covers the themes of love, mistaken identities and magic. The story has been adapted so that is is suitable for ages 7-9. There are three differentiated booklets. The higher booklet has three pages of text for the children to read before they complete a range of questions based on a mixture of the KS1 and KS2 SATs. The middle and lower ability booklets have the text split into separate pages with questions on each page. Perfect for using during** Shakespeare Week** (12th March) or for a Shakespeare or playwriting topic. PDF file format.

This resource is a comprehension activity based on the year 6 reading comprehension SATs paper. The theme is the story of Palm Sunday, which I have rewritten to resemble the style of the reading paper. There is a reading booklet and an accompanying question booklet, which contains a range of questions based on last year’s paper. Answers are also included. I have included 3 differentiated levels. The Higher Ability level (801 words) is similar to the SATs paper, whilst the Middle Ability (741 words) and Lower Ability (615 words) use slightly simplified wording in the reading and question booklet.
