This is a plan and resources for a beginner’s Spanish lesson to use with KS2. It involves children learning the vocabulary for different forms of transport. The plan could be used for an individual lesson, or as part of a longer holidays/vacations unit. The plan gives details of a game for a starter, how to teach the vocabulary, a whole class listening game, a reading activity, a written activity and a plenary. It is highly interactive and allows children to practise a range of language skills. Resources needed for the lesson are included in the price. A collection of 10 worksheets, 10 activities and 10 starters (in the form of a PowerPoint) to use with your year 6 class in the run-up to SATs. The ten topics covered are those that my class were finding difficult, so I decided they needed a bit of extra revision! The worksheets use questions that are based on the SATs SPaG papers, plus a few extras. The activities are perfect for group work and prepare your class for SATs in a more interactive way. A collection of 3 SPaG activity booklets for year 2 with the theme of football, perfect for using during the 2018 football world cup. All three activities are based on the 2016/2017 SPaG SATs papers, but with appealing images and a football theme. Each activity contains 18 questions focussing on a range of punctuation and grammar. This includes tenses, sentence types, commas, question marks, full stops, apostrophes, nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs. The children are asked to circle, tick, fill in the missing gap, match up words and write full sentences, with all questions based around football. This is a presentation on Florence Nightingale, the pioneering nurse who fought for more hygienic hospital conditions during the Crimean War. Use it as part of a lesson or for an assembly for KS1 or KS2. The presentation covers Florence’s childhood, early career, work during the Crimean War and ongoing legacy. This is Blossoming Minds’ second set of 10 PowerPoints to help prepare your class for the Phonics Screening Check. Each PowerPoint includes 40 words, one on each slide. 20 words are pretend or ‘alien’ words and 20 are real words. They are organised in the same way as the screening check, starting with four simple phase 2 words, before moving on to phase 3, 4 and 5 and concluding with more complex words. Get your class to call out together or choose targeted children to decode the words. Use throughout the year - fit in during 5 minute gaps or use during a phonics lesson to make sure your entire class are prepared for the screening check!

This resource contains a comprehension pack on ‘Remembrance Day.’ There are four different comprehensions: What is Remembrance Day? The First Remembrance Day Why do we wear poppies? The History of the Poppy It includes answers and is suitable for using with year 1. Each comprehension contains a short piece of text (about 5 sentences) with words that can be sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say. The text is followed by 5 simple questions. There is also a powerpoint included in the pack containing a slide for each text so that you can go through the comprehensions before the children complete them.
