This is a set of comprehensions about the celebrations for King Charles III’s Coronation. They are aimed at Year 2 (ages 6-7). The comprehensions cover what a coronation is, a short history of Charles’s life, how Charles and others are celebrating, ways that children can get involved and the King’s charitable projects. There are three differentiated booklets. The booklets are split into five separate pages with questions on each page. The higher ability booklet has 15 questions, the middle ability has 13 questions and the lower ability contains 12 questions. There are colour and black & white versions of each booklet. Answers are also included. All of the documents are in the zip file. Perfect for using around the Coronation celebrations or for a topic on King Charles III. PDF file format. This is an assembly for teaching children about Lent. It is suitable for ages 5-11. The theme is ‘giving something up’ and it is based on a Bible story about Jesus. The 4 page pdf assembly plan is highly interactive, with plenty of opportunity for volunteers to take part or give answers or ideas. It includes questions to ask the children with answers. There is an introduction, a discussion, a Bible story, a further discussion and a final prayer/reflection. I have also included a 19 slide PowerPoint presentation which gives details about Lent, includes the bible story from the plan and questions for discussion. (This is non-editable. This resource contains 5 comprehension activities all about dinosaurs. They are suitable for using with year 1 or lower ability year 2. They each contain a short piece of text with words that can be sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say. The text is followed by 5 simple questions. There are three differentiated levels. There is a colour and black & white version of each level. There are five different topics: What were dinosaurs? Diplodocus Triceratops Tyrannosaurus Rex What happened to all the dinosaurs? There is also a PowerPoint included in the pack containing a slide for each text from the middle ability so that you can go through the comprehensions before the children complete them. This is an assembly plan to teach children about Lent and why Christians perform good deeds during Lent. It is suitable for ages 5 -11. The 4 page plan (pdf) includes an introduction, an anecdote relevant to the children, a parable, a reflection and a prayer to finish. It is highly interactive, with questions and answers throughout. A collection of 10 worksheets, 10 activities and 10 starters (in the form of a PowerPoint) to use with your year 6 class in the run-up to SATs. The ten topics covered are those that my class were finding difficult, so I decided they needed a bit of extra revision! The worksheets use questions that are based on the SATs SPaG papers, plus a few extras. The activities are perfect for group work and prepare your class for SATs in a more interactive way. The slideshow can be used for fillers, starters or plenaries. You can also put the three together to make 30 minute lessons on these tricky topics! For example, start with the slideshow to recap prepositions, before splitting your class into groups to do the interactive activity. Finish with an individual worksheet to check each child’s understanding.
