A bundle of templates useful for teaching History (and other subjects as well!), which focuses on improving students’ understanding of the second order historical concepts and developing key skills such as, critical thinking, evaluation and formulating judgments. The bundle includes: supporting and challenging the statement scales; significance thermometers; change ripple diagram; consequence diagram; Venn diagram; sequence of events dual-coding task; storyboard; postcards; opposing views newspapers; measuring relative success template. The templates were made with KS3 in mind but could be used for other years groups as well as for subjects other than History.

A proof reading help slip aimed at KS3 (but could used in for other year groups) to help them to proof read their own work and make improvements. Improvement suggestions focus on improving punctuation and upgrading literacy choices to improve written work (for example using sophisticated punctuation and considering word choices), as well as more History-specific considerations like providing evidence, fully answering the question and considering alternative points of view. There are six proof reading slips per page - small enough that they won’t take up too much room in students’ books and good for the printing budget! I often print them on coloured paper so they stand out.
