These placemats are a great plenary activity for lessons on consideration.
Students can pick questions to answer for the sheet, have questions allocated or have to answer all of the questions.
There are different colours for each question to help with distinction.
The questions all test different areas of consideration as well as different skills with both evaluation and application style questions.
I use this as part of a DIRT lesson following an evaluation essay on consideration.
Designed for the Eduqas exam board but would suit other exam boards as well.
This activity asks students to research cases on a particular topic and find a case for each of the headings.
This can be useful as a revision activity, as a flipped learning or home learning activity, a homework task or as a starter task when beginning a new topic.
There are two versions of the worksheet, each with different questions. You can split these up amongst the class, give everyone the same one or give everyone a two paged task if you want it to last longer.
I recommend allocating students a topic.
Students then research seven different cases, one for each of the headings. Some may be harder than others depending on the topic!
This requires some knowledge of law and how the legal system works. I would expect students to have studied English Legal Systems before doing it.

This is a 15 mark evaluation style essay question on Magistrates. It follows a typical Eduqas style question for Paper 1: English Legal Systems.
Included is a model essay plan which you can use to help you with marking and also help students with their own planning.
There is also a model answer included which can support with DIRT work.
There are lots of statistics in the model answers for this question and you may want to update these as time goes on

I put students in pairs/small groups and give them each one topic. Once they have correctly sorted it they can do the next topic. The group with the most complete topics at the end of 3 minutes gets a prize.

This will mean the cards are printed flipped so that the back matches the front! If you do long edge then this won’t work. I recommend doing a test print of pages 1 & 2 first to ensure your formatting is working!

This case table is a great revision resource for A-Level law students. It contains gaps to fill in the facts and legal principle for the key cases for defences and remedies under tort law.
These cases are the ‘tier 1’ cases and sections. These are cases that will appear in every problem question answer for defences and remedies.

How I Use This Resource
I give the sheet to students and give them five minutes to complete as much as they can by themselves without notes.
I then give them a further five minutes to work as a group.
They can then complete the table with notes if there are still gaps.
I usually have the table on the board and fill it in throughout if students as me for clarity or shout out any answers! By the end of about 15 minutes every students should have a completed sheet.

This is a 10 mark (AO1) question on bail designed to suit the Eduqas exam board. This would also work as an 8 marker from OCR. The question asks students to describe how bail works.
There is also a model plan and a model answer included to help with marking/DIRT work.
Students should be given about 15 minutes to answer if doing the question under timed conditions.

This is a lesson on duty of care and standard of care as part of the negligence element of tort law. This lesson is designed for the OCR syllabus but could be modified to suit other exam boards.
