Poetry By Heart - Invictus (KS3)

(0)
A set of four lessons around “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley. The aim of the unit is for pupils to learn the poem by heart by the end of a week. Perfect for KS3. This set of lessons is configured across 4X1hour blocks and is ideal for an end of term competition or challenge. It would also work really well in celebration of Nelson Mandela Day or combined with a Black History Month unit. Having done this with my mixed ability year 8s, they felt a real sense of accomplishment and worked well together, supporting and encouraging each other. Resources include: Powerpoint with clear tasks and instructions Detailed lesson plans for 4x1hour lessons which include suggested timings Word document with poem to print out
