An interactive homework display based around GCSE science.
Students select the superhero they want, scan the QR code and answer the attached question. There are also help images for students to look at to generate ideas.
Captain america and spiderman = genetic engineering
x-men = DNA mutations
Iron man = forces
The Flash = metabolic reactions
Scarlet witch = matter
Groot = plant biology
The Hulk = gamma rays
Middle/low ability KS3 lesson on deficiency diseases. Included is a match-mine game, learner must lay the cards face-down on their desk. Two cards are turned over at a time, if the disease and definition match that learner can take those cards.
Prior to game go through each disease.
Middle/low ability active lesson, students go around the room and must condense information into a table. To support learners further model how to condense information down.
Project developed for a top set class.
Will cover several lessons.
Requires iPads and paper.
Students will design a house which will be efficient. Students use the light imaging camera on iPads to mimic thermal imaging and see where there are weaknesses in their design which they can improve.
Students complete a work sheet along side their house.
Final lesson is to write a report on their house.

Pupils should have an understanding of particle theory and the movement of thermal energy.
This lesson is designed for a top set year 8 but is adaptable for lower sets.
Requires ice cubes, lamp, wooden block, metal block, trough of water, hot water, cold water and red and blue food colouring for practical demo.
Demo is followed by an explanation by class teacher using the images provided in the powerpoint.
