Easily adaptable for home learning. This covers the whole of Theme 1, Topic 4 – ‘Customs & festivals in French-speaking countries/ communities’. The PowerPoint is very lengthy (57 slides) and contains work for six or seven lessons. The PowerPoint is broken down into four sections: 1) Grammar; 2) Listening; 3) Reading and Writing; and 4) Speaking. There are several different worksheets to accompany exercises on the PowerPoint, as well as a transcript for the listening and answer sheets also appear on the PowerPoint. This is a set of resources to introduce and practice 27 classroom instructions and phrases. The PowerPoint initially 12 classroom instructions with practice exercises and then goes on to introduce and practice a further 15. The resource is easily adaptable if you want to introduce less. There are various activities on the PowerPoint and on an accompanying worksheet. The activities include speaking practice and repetition, match-ups, gap-fills, and a listening comprehension. Pupils will gain a good knowledge of these classroom phrases, and will be able to recognise and use them in the classroom.

Based on the new specifications of exam boards for French GCSE, I have produced 40 different photo cards, all have 5 questions and are a range of questions to cover both foundation and higher tiers. The cards cover all 3 themes and all sub-themes. The questions are based on information from several exam boards. The assessment criteria for AQA, Edexcel and WJEC are included on the mark schemes document.

Easily adaptable for home learning. This document is in the format of worksheets/ a booklet that can be given to all GCSE students. It is broken down into themes and then into the topics within each theme. For each topic there are translation exercises both into English, as on the Reading Exams and into French, as the Writing Exams. It is 36 pages in length and contains 120 translations of varying lengths and levels of challenge. The translations have been created carefully and are in line with exam board exemplar materials. This could be used by pupils at the end of teaching each topic/ sub-theme in order to test/ check understanding and to practise translation skills or used for wider translation purposes.

This is a fun cultural resource that goes through various German Christmas traditions, in English, including some German words. This is aimed at pupils in both KS2 and KS3. There are 16 slides of information and pictures. After that, there is a multiple-choice quiz to check what pupils have understood and/or information they have retained. The quiz is on the PowerPoint (as are the answers) but there is also a separate worksheet version of the quiz. There is a writing / drawing activity for pupils to do at the end and then a separate word search document which has words from the activities.

This resource pack will ensure students have a full understanding of recognising and conjugating reflexive verbs in the present tense. The first PowerPoint introduces pupils to reflexives verbs, in the infinitive and then demonstrates how to form the present tense of reflexive verbs, using a step-by-step method. The slides contain grammar notes that students can note in their exercise books and use as a reference for all future work using these verbs. There are a range of exercises to complete, as well as a reading comprehension and a writing task. There is a worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. The second PowerPoint contains pictures of daily routine activities with the appropriate phrases, in the first person, and then moves on to tasks to complete using all subject pronouns with a wide range of reflexive verbs. This is a tried and tested method to ensure comprehension and the ability to confidently form the present tense with reflexive verbs.

This pack has two Power Points that explain how to put present tense verbs in to the negative form. The first PowerPoint goes through forming the negative with n'/ne and pas for all verbs, except reflexives. It then goes on to introduce ne ... rien/ jamais/plus/que. Each section has a range of exercises to complete and there is a worksheet to accompany the PowerPoint. These exercises include transition exercises, important to start early on, ready for the new GCSE specifications. The second PowerPoint follows a very similar format for reflexive present tense verbs and has exercises to complete. Again, there is a worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. These presentations compliment my Present Tense Verbs resources, following a tried and tested method.

This is a set of 30 role-plays in a printable format to use for mock/ preparation/ class practice for speaking exams. These are all based on Theme 3 – Current and Future Study and Employment. They have been compiled by studying exemplar materials given by all exam boards. There are 15 foundation tier and 15 higher tier role-plays. There is a teacher’s pack for each set of role-plays, giving the teacher’s part for each conversation. There are also two Power Points, one for the foundation role-plays, one for the higher set. Each PowerPoint starts with an explanation of the role play section of the exam and then shows each role play card, followed by showing the (!) unknown question so that students can also prepare for that/ start to predict what the unknown question could be.

Furthermore there is a murder mystery pack based on the perfect tense. The murder mystery set of resources was used for both Ofsted and internally reviews lessons, which were rated as 'outstanding'. Each resource set contains Power Points with accompanying worksheets. It introduces, explains and tests understanding of all aspects of the perfect tense in a step-by-step format.

There is a lengthy PowerPoint (79 slides) that goes through describing height, build, hair and eyes with reinforcement activities, match up activities, gap fills, translations and a reading comprehension. It then goes on to introduce 16 characteristics with listening activities, match ups, snake sentences and reading comprehensions. The final activity is the creation of a wanted poster for students to complete. There is an 8-page worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint.
