This pack includes • An introduction to an extensive range of grammatical terms, including pronouns, infinitives, conjugated verbs, articles, and intensifiers, with lots of examples. Other Power Points have a more in-depth check of understanding with French texts; one for students who have only covered present tense verbs; and the other covering three tenses. • A grammar sorting challenge, which is a whole class team game to revise and/ or check pupils’ understanding of grammatical terms. This follows on well from the first resource in this bundle. • A step-by-step guide to using possessive adjectives in French, with PowerPoint slides that can be used for pupils to record grammar notes. There are lots of exercises to complete as you go through to check comprehension.

Easily adaptable for home learning. This PowerPoint introduces 11 colours (rojo, rosa, naranja, amarillo, azul, verde, blanco, negro, gris, morado, marrón) and there are lots of practice activities. The colours are introduced with the words and then there are lots of practice activities without the words. Slides 31 – 33 can be printed as these are colour by number activities. There are match up exercises, unjumble the words, fill in the missing letters, and complete and so on. There is also a separate word search document.

Easily adaptable for home learning. There is a fairly lenghtly GCSE text about holiday preferences, giving the advantages and disadvantages of seaside and also mountainside holidays. The accompanying worksheet has a wide range of activities to complete, both directly related to the text and activities just related to the theme. This covers the whole of Theme 1, Topics 1- 4. The work contained in this large bundle is enough for at least a complete half term. The bundle contains lengthy Power Points for each topic/ sub-theme. There are a large number of different worksheets to accompany exercises on the Power Points; and transcripts for the listening activities as well as answers for the activities. This bundle contains three resource packs – all specifically designed for the GCSE New Specifications: 1. Translations. This document is in the format of worksheets/ a booklet that can be given to all GCSE students. It is broken down into themes and then into the 12 topics within each theme. For each topic there are translation exercises both into English, as on the Reading Exams and into French, as the Writing Exams. It is 36 pages in length and contains 120 translations of varying lengths and levels of challenge. 2. For the new GCSE exams, pupils will be expected to understand all French exam rubrics. This PowerPoint goes through all rubrics needed, starting with understanding the main verbs, commonly used words and then through to whole instructions in French. There are plenty of exercises for pupils to complete and a worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. 3. GCSE Vocabulary. This is a 29 page document which contains AQA French GCSE vocabulary. The vocabulary is categorised in to sections – including themes and topics within themes. It is easy to use these sections or even break down the sections to set regular vocabulary learning homework. This ensures that over the two-year GCSE course, students have been exposed to all essential vocabulary. There are vocabulary extras, particularly in the topics of: technology, social issues and global issues.

This is a set of resources to introduce and practice 20 items of school equipment. The PowerPoint initially 10 items with practice exercises and then goes on to introduce and practice a further 10. The resource is easily adaptable if you want to introduce less. Articles and gender are also introduced and there is some practice of changing from un/une/ des to le/ la/ les/ l’ with grammar explanations. There is a range of activities on the PowerPoint and on an accompanying worksheet. The activities include speaking practice and repetition, match-ups, gap-fills, anagrams, a listening comprehension, grammar activities and writing opportunities. Easily adaptable for home learning. This is a set of resources to introduce describing others and oneself. There is a lengthy PowerPoint (76 slides) that goes through describing height, build, hair and eyes with reinforcement activities, match up activities, gap fills, translations and reading comprehension. It then goes on to introduce 16 characteristics with match ups, snake sentences and reading comprehensions. The final activity is the creation of a wanted poster for students to complete. There is an 8-page worksheet that accompanies the PowerPoint. These resources are enough for several lessons and start from introduction through to pupils confidently using all of the new language, creating whole descriptions of themselves and others.

This set of resources has extracts from 5 well known books with different activities to do on each of them. The resources are firstly presented on a PowerPoint, with all texts and questions appearing on the slides, as well as answers to the given activities. They also appear as 5 accompanying worksheets, which can be used independently and individually. Easily adaptable for home learning. This is a fun, creative project for students of all ability ranges. It is a great project for pupils in years 8 or 9 and takes 2 – 3 weeks to complete. Pupils work in pairs or small groups to make their own French magazine. The PowerPoint goes through the different types of magazines pupils could create (fashion, sport, tech, healthy lifestyle, music, travel) and explains in a step-by-step format the different features each magazine should include. Example and ideas of features/ articles to include are also given. The PowerPoint is a complete introduction to pupils for the creative work they will be doing, in the form of a magazine, and there is also a worksheet to print for each group to keep to guide them through everything they should include. It is ideal to do at the end of term as it allows pupils to work independently from the teacher; practise the French they have learnt; and they really enjoy this creative task.

This Paris resource is all in English and is an insight into Paris. There is lots of information about Paris itself and its top tourist attractions, which can be used by students in the task given: to create a brochure or e-brochure about Paris for English speaking tourists. This is a very large set of resources to introduce and practise the topic of healthy lifestyle. The lengthy PowerPoint initially introduces a set of vocabulary related to healthy and unhealthy lifestyles, with some practice activities to follow. It then goes on to introduce ‘man muss’, ‘man sollte’ and ‘man darf nicht’, ‘man sollte nicht’ and combines this with the infinitives and vocabulary previously presented. There are a range of activities to follow, including a writing activity, listening, a gap fill and a translation. A grammar section follows introducing general adverbs and adverbs of time / frequency and how to add them to a text with exercises to follow. Some of the exercises throughout this PowerPoint are divided into option A (easier) and option B (more challenging). There follows a variety of different exercises (including reading comprehensions, match ups, grammar and a writing activity with help sheet) and a second listening activity. All answers appear on the PowerPoint. Following this there are photo card activities with example answers and a range of photos for class speaking or writing work. This is aimed at Year 9 and/ or GCSE students. In all there are over 24 different activities and the PowerPoint is 107 slides long. To accompany the PowerPoint there are two worksheet documents (one includes all activities and option A only, and the second is the same but with option B) for all the activities, which are easily editable. There is also a printable help sheet for one of the writing tasks. Pupils will gain an excellent knowledge of a wide range of ways healthy and unhealthy lifestyles can be presented and practised, and will be confident to recognise and use them in a range of situations.
