Activity follows by looking at properties of 2D and 3D shapes. Children to write as many properties of each shape as possible. Notebook as shape shapes to teacher to model.
Year 6 focus on fractions of amounts - learning with 3 levels of differentiation (Mild, hot and spicy)
Learning starts with fluency (arithmetic focus) followed by reasoning style questions so that that children can experience learning for both style of KS2 maths SATs paper for the new curriculum.
There are two notebook. There are similar but one has AfL due to initial teaching with my own class.

Activities also have learning to include reasoning style questions to support with New KS2 SATs
Along with Inputs on a smart notebook there are three levels differentiation per per.
MILD, HOT, SPICY
Smartbook file and 3 levels of differentiated work (Mild, hot and spicy) focusing on calculating with the 4 operation of fractions.
Questions focus on those in new arithmetic SATs paper so that children can practise the same type of questions that they may be set in May
Overview of all fraction type question that are in KS2 SATs papers - arithmetic and reasoning
PowerPoint focuses on different types of questions that will come up in KS2 Arithmetic and reasoning SATs papers. This is then mirrored in activity. One activity, lower group, focusing on arithmetic skills with rest of the class focusing on reasoning style questions
Starter of the powerpoint looks at multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000
Addition and subtraction of fractions with three levels of differentiation (Mild, Hot and Spicy)
PowerPoint focuses on different types of questions that will come up in KS2 Arithmetic SATs paper and the level of difficultly. This is then mirrored in activity.
Starter of the powerpoint looks at commutative law i.e. 3 x 8 x 4
Multiplication and division of fractions with three levels of differentiation (Mild, Hot and Spicy)
PowerPoint focuses on different types of questions that will come up in KS2 Arithmetic SATs paper and the level of difficultly. This is then mirrored in activity.
Starter of the powerpoint looks at multiplying decimals by single digits
UKS2 volume problem - nrich problem that has PowerPoint and worksheet created to support with recording workings, predictions and explanation of learning.
Lesson was done as a problem solving lesson focusing on systematic method but this can be changed depending on needs of children.
4 days worth or activies and inputs focusing on fractions - addition and subtraction, multiplcation, division and fractions of amounts. Learning perfect for KS2 arithemetic paper.
Activities also have learning that include reasoning style questions to support with New KS2 SATs
Along with Inputs on a smart notebook there are three levels differentiation per per. some with additional challenge)
MILD, HOT, SPICY adnd VINDALOO.
Resources include scanned copies of sheets with fraction already on as wll as the orignal word documnt if you choose that you wan different fractions depending of you AfL of children understanding.
Some answer provided as well.
2 sessions of activities. Both focusing on converting metric units. Day 2 puts this in to a real life context on a blue print for a house.
Activities also have learning to include reasoning style questions to support with New KS2 SATs
Along with Inputs on Power Points there are three levels differentiation for the first session and 2 for the real life context.
MILD, HOT, SPICY
Spicy focuses on imperial to metric conversions.
Conversion cover provided to be attach to learning so that children need to recall facts but have them a support if necessary.
2 days worth of activities and smartnote files to support with compat multiplcation and long division.
Activities support with the arithematic paper and also have learning includes reasoning style questions to support with New KS2 SATs
Along with Inputs on a smart notebook there are three levels differentiation per per.
MILD, HOT, SPICY
3 levels of differentation (Mild, Hot and Spicy) focusing on prime, multiples, factors and square numbers. Numbers placed in Venn and Carroll diagrams to support with KS2 SATs. PowerPoint goes through different types of diagrams and how they might be presented along with past SATs questions.
Initally focus of lesson on prime numbers and how to identify them using a 100 square and going through multiple systematically.
13 documents that break down the 2016 KS2 reasoning paper 2 and 3 in to focus areas to support revision and teaching of needed topic.
Documents are on word so they can be edited so that children get more exposure to SATs questions but with different value.
2 days of activities and and 3 days of inputs for calculating missing for year 6 but could also me suitable for year 5 towards the end of the academic year. Perfect to support with NEW maths KS2 SATs
Focus areas are: Missing angles on straight lines, within triangles and within quadrilaterials. Children to use the knowledge of isosceles triangles and opposite angles
All three days have input resources - smart notebooks.
All activities have 4 level of differentiation
MILD, HOT, SPICY and VINDALOO
Three days of activities and inputs for introducing algebra to year 6 but could also me suitable for year 5 towards the end of the academic year. Perfect to support with NEW maths KS2 SATs
Focus areas are: understanding that symbols/letters can represent an amount; simplifying expressions; construction expression and substitution.
All three days have input resources - PowerPoints or smart notebooks.
All activities have 3 level of differentiation (some have additional challenge)
MILD, HOT, SPICY and VINDALOO
Notebook file with 3 levels of differentiation as we as 2 past SATs question to be used as plenary and/or extension.
Perfect to support with KS2 SAT's.
Mild - plotting, identify co-ordinates and matching co-ordinate on excel sheet; therefore, it is editable if necessary easily.
Hot and Spicy - Children draw a set of axis for 4 quadrants and then plots the three points given of a quadrilateral - similar to how past SATs question have been set. Differentiation is that Spicy have more complex quadrilaterals and they may overlap and cross over the axis. Hot only uses squares and rectangles (one square is rotated 45 degrees)
To support with KS2 SATs- there is an array of different arithmetic question to complete. Can be done in teams/pairs or individually using the answer sheet. Presentation is split in to sections (normally 4 questions) then same questions are repeated with answers to break up the session.
Children enjoy the competition and good to do in mixed ability pairs so support can be given and keeps the scores fairly the same.
