This book contains 30 fun and fantastic ideas to engage children in their learning. It offers ideas for teachers to implement in order to encourage awe and wonder for the children and subsequently encourage children to be enthused and excited by their topic. This book is especially helpful for teachers who may need inspiration for an up-coming observation and will help them to deliver a fun-filled, fantastic lesson!
This book is aimed at Early Years teachers in education where advice and support is offered in order to provide the early years ethos as well as offer ideas to support and encourage children in their learning environment. Its content allows teachers to implement an effective classroom both indoors and outdoors, as well as activities within most sections for teachers to carry out within their own classroom. Its contents page allows people to refer to differing sections within the book with ease and towards the centre of the book, a selection of photographs have been included which are from my own early years setting.
This book is particularly useful for those new to education and the expectations required to work within one. It gives a step-by-step breakdown and outlines what is expected of them by the school and OFSTED.
The layout of the book intends to be eye catching and creative, as most teachers tend to have a creative side! The mix in both text and photos is used in order to keep the reader excited and engaged – as well as set as a reminder, that in Early Years, creativity is imperative.
This book contains 50 challenges to do with your child – either as a parent or as a teacher. It can be used a day-by-day challenge or do the entire book at once! It would be nice to have a ‘free space’ next to the challenge page for the family/teacher to place a photo of the challenge that they completed as a way to remember their learning as well as see a development in their progression in their learning. Most of the pictures have been taken from the children’s work which I set as challenges over the Lockdown period. The children enjoyed these activities and I think you’ll be able to tell as you look through the book!
