I have written three extended stories to some Oxford Reading Tree Stage 1 stories. I could not find the original extended stories to these, although they may exist. The stories are for: Who is it?, Six in a bed, and Fun at the beach. I have also attached some other original extended stories, written by Roderick Hunt, that I have typed out, ready for a Shared Reading session.

Worksheet for story sequencing; Independent/ Guided writing frames, including key word cards for ordering and scribing; Labelling characters - using phonic knowledge to write simple words (I used as a homework activity)

Writing frames differentiated on ability. Children to draw a picture to reflect the beginning, middle and end of the story, and either write a sentence, caption or beginning/middle/end or trace over words.

Pictures to be used for paired discussion. Children to study the picture carefully, and talk about it: What is the picture about? Who are the characters? What do you like about the picture? Imagine you are in the picture, who would you be? Where would you be? What are you doing? Designed to be used with R-time lesson Year 1 lesson 1.15. Also useful for SEAL lessons and other times where images of multicultural families and people are needed.

Great ideas if you are planning to set up a florist in your role-play corner.

A sheet designed for the child to draw an image of one of the farm animals in the story. To sound out and write the sound that that animal makes in the story. A nice short follow-up writing activity to a drama based lesson, based on the story What the Ladybird Heard by Julia Donaldson.

Termly assessment of phonemes and graphemes known. Using a different colour each assessment, I draw a semi-circle above for phoneme known and underneath for grapheme known. Listed in order of teaching from Phases 2 and 3 of Letters and Sounds phonic teaching materials.
