this says cut and paste activity, but works better as 'link element to use' - good starter or plenary

pupils work in groups of 4. 1st give them 4 cards with correct atomic structure, including electron shells and tell them to come up with rules. then give them 4 cards with incorrect atomic structure to test their rules. then they have to see if they need all the rules.... works a treat! please comment and rate if you use, thanks

a simple, but effective, starter activity

goes with practical work shining a light on a black and white test tube. start by setting apps up, get class to draw, fill in method, do prac and complete conclusion EXCELLENT FOR LOW ABILITY

makes pupils use internet to check tests for different gases and uses of everyday chemicals - i find this useful for consolidating previous knowledge and spotting where there are gaps in knowledge to focus on.
