I am on my 26th year of teaching. I am so excited to share my creative student centered experiences with others! I love to rock out the classroom! I have taught everything from Geography, Free Enterprise, English, History and Athletic Coaching. I'm devoted to Teaching Like A Pirate: Bold, Daring, Risk Taking and adventurous! My teaching style is all about building relationships with my students. Students will do anything for you if they know you care about them.

In this lesson students will use the SEE THINK WONDER strategy on Gold Rush images. This encourages students to make careful observations and thoughtful interpretations of primary sources. This thinking routine will be used on 5 images and one letter. The HOOK activity will get students interested in the learning phase of this lesson. Next, students will use the reading material answer some questions to show what they have learned. The final EXIT ticket requires students to demonstrate understanding by completing a twitter conversation with John Sutter, James Marshall and a 49er.
