A helpful maths mat for a pupils useful information folder

The aim of this is to form a year long display for a class. It is based around the aspirations of the class for the school year ahead. Back a suitably sized board in blue. The teacher’s aspiration will be in the sun. The children’s aspirations will be on clouds, birds and planes The foundations for the year ahead will be on the rooftops to appear at the bottom of the display. It could look something like this;

You can also accessories with, hat, bandanna, cutlass, parrot, eye patch and beard. Will you make the cast all male or have a female captain? Cut out, colour in and glue together as a tube. Description This is a feedback tool for project work. The aim would be for the pupils to write their progress, issues and other relevant information on the pupil’s rabbit sticker and place it at the back of their work / project book on an established frequency. The teacher would then collect the work, review and feedback with the teacher’s rabbit sticker. This enables open communication between pupil and teacher, along with providing feedback without impacting the pupil’s work in progress. Once established it could be rolled out into other marking setups to give a more visual communication between pupil, teacher and if relevant parent / guardian.

A fun activity to learn about pupils in your new class while enjoying yourselves. Ideally to be performed on a playground to make sure it does not get cramped. 45 multiple choice general knowledge questions included.

A moving up day task where the pupils decide what they would like to be to be famous. They can pick from film star, to author, to reality star and sports star. They have 200 famous points to pick what they want to be. Will they use all the points on a big role or two smaller roles, like local journalist and non international cricketer? Will they have enough points to get an agent, bodyguard or fan club. The ultimate goal is an interview to see how they got famous and what they like about it.

An activity for the whole class, you create and design your own superhero. You use a points system to select the powers you want, that way no one is to powerful. From there you can design your hero, create the backstory, create your own super villain and even create your own adventure story. You could even get some pupils to create a team up story that they can write together. Enjoy

A story for assembly about forgiveness. Tommy is the best footballer at school, until an accident happens in a lunch time game, that causes him to get an injury that he blames Robert for. will he forgive Robert or bear a grudge?

A helpful reminder of what to check with a pupils written work. PURR, punctuation, check you have all the relevant capital letters, commas full stops etc. Understandable, does your sentence or paragraph make sense? Reword, have used some words repetitively, can you change them for something else, are there any wow words you can use? Finally Recheck, does it still answer the question or task assigned? Its the last week of the school year and no one wants to be there. Attached is a challenge game consisting of twenty smaller games that cover, Maths, English, Drama, Art, PSHE, general knowledge, research skills, Logic puzzles and PE. All times are for suggestion, depends on your class. It is designed for fun and keeping the class occupied.

A quick checklist for pupils when they are preparing a piece of fiction / creative writing

A short story inspired by Roald Dahl characters based around the nativity story, along with an adapted Christmas carol to go with it.

A quick and easy form to be used after an event, course or training etc. to document what went well, what did not go well, what was useful, learnings for next time and how relevant information will be fed back to a larger audience.

A complete project for packaging including templates Overview As part of the Design and Technology topic of packaging the pupils will pick one of the ‘Toy’ concepts listed below. They will Develop how the toy will look from the descriptions, photos and accessories provided. Also look at how the toys wording (slogan and advertising) will look using their Art/DT book. Decide what type of box or combination of boxes would be best for their toy/s to be displayed in, and what the box/es contains. The aim is that at the end of the topic that they should have a complete presentation / display on their chosen toy.

A one off English lesson plan where the class use their imagination to think of an artefact from the past that has imbued with magical abilities and then write a story about it and how they would use it today.
