Aimed at SL IB but easily applicable to KS3 & 4 groups. Presentation is focused on 2 aspects, taking a trig result and using that to show what the other ratios would be (without a calculator). Secondly it looks at elevations and depressions. problems include having to recall without a calculator the values of common angles. questions and discussion points built into the presentation answers are included feel free to modify and improve Hope you enjoy and please leave feedback

Matrix Algebra- series of lessons

(4)
This is aimed at KS4 and 5 covers Matrix algebra from recognising dimensions of a Matrix, to adding/subtracting matrices, multiplying matrices, determinants, inverse matrices and identity matrices. Enough in here for more than one lesson fully detailed examples and answers provided broken down into smaller chunks with lots of opportunity for recaps and paired work. lots of credit to Tristanjones and Owen134866 whose work I have adapted to fit my classes needs
Matrices Revision

Matrices Revision

(2)
Aimed at KS4 and KS5 students (particularly those doing Cambridge IGCSE or Standard Level IB Maths) Interactive revision quiz each slide has 4 possible answers (which are built into the powerpoint) Great for voting systems or even just with a mini whiteboard Answers included. Hope you enjoy, please leave feedback. This is taken from a resource by Tristan Jones. Have amended it to include the answers within the slides

Polynomials- factor theorem and remainder theorem

(0)
Series of lessons on polynomials recommended order Factor Theorem Factor Theorem 2 (completely factorising) Remainder Theorem aimed at KS4 IGCSE Further Pure Maths but usuable with KS5 full worked examples on each with work included within the presentations in most cases. All answers provided. Hope you enjoy please leave feedback
The Remainder Theorem

The Remainder Theorem

(1)
Aimed at KS4 Further Pure IGCSE but easily adaptable for post 16 students. Powerpoint and worksheet (with answers) on the remainder theorem. Fully worked examples and answers given to all questions set. 4th lesson following on from dividing polynomials, factor theorem and factor theorem 2. Hope you like it please leave feedback (have amended it to remove an incorrect slide apologies) (worksheet is adapted by joezhou
Factor theorem 2 - fully factorising polynomials

Factor theorem 2 - fully factorising polynomials

(1)
Second part of Factor Theorem for my IGCSE Further pure maths, although easily adaptable for IB and A Level, this time on using the factor theorem when we have not been given any factor, before fully factorising by factorising a quadratic. Starter task reminds of using the factor theorem to show if (x-a) is a factor full examples given and follow up questions as well as evaluation tasks involving peer assessment. hope you enjoy, please leave feedback (next time I will do remainder theorem)
Factor Theorem 1
commutercommuter

Factor Theorem 1

(2)
Aimed at KS5 pupils and pupils doing further maths IGCSE an introduction to the factor theorem Starter to remind how to divide polynomials, discussion task on what makes a factor. Full worked example on how to use the factor theorem to show something is a factor Full worked example on how to use the factor theorem to find missing coefficients Follow up tasks for all of this with fully worked solutions hope you find it useful and enjoy please leave feedback (will do one on remainder theorem next)

exponentials 3- e and continuous change

(1)
aimed at KS5 pupils, developed for my IB Standard Level class it covers the exponential function and continuous change. full worked examples and questions with answers included in the ppt works well with the other lessons on exponentials. hope you enjoy please leave feedback, cheers

KS3 Christmas relay

(1)
16 question relay task aimed at KS3 pupils based around Christmas. Covers a variety of topics, good as a revision fun lesson for the end of term whilst still having maths in it. easy to adapt answers included hope you enjoy, please leave feedback
Christmas Relay 1
commutercommuter

Christmas Relay 1

(1)
Aimed at higher KS3 pupils, and C/D children in KS4 a relay activity based around Christmas. covers a variety of topics so great as a revision task whilst being a bit of fun too answers given one thing I tend to do with these relays is give the kids 3 chances on each question, get it right first time get 2 points, if they get it on 2nd go they get a point, if they get it wrong 3 times they lose 2 points. I also get them to pick 2 questions before the start, they only get 1 go on each, if they get it right they get 10 points, if they get it wrong they lose all their points or a variation of this. Builds in a little more competition and stops them rushing to be the first finished. I intend to do another relay aimed at younger pupils Hope you enjoy Please leave feedback

Introduction to exponentials and exponential curves

(7)
Aimed at first lesson with KS4/5 pupils on exponentials. (will be using it with my IB year 12s) Covers what an exponential is, recaps the index laws (rules of exponents), links in to domain and range of functions and transforming functions so would work well after covering those topics. discussion tasks, starter activity, drawing and comparing graphs hope you enjoy, please leave feedback in a review (the 2 files are basically the same, one with UK terms used the other with the terms needed in the IB) cheers
