This is a game designed to revise for the Spanish GCSE. It is meant to play as a class and if is based on snakes and ladders. Students will choose a counter and roll the dice, and they will have to do different things depending on where they land:
If they land in a box where there is a phrase in English, they have to translate it into Spanish.
If they land on a question mark, the teacher will ask them a question in Spanish (a set of sample questions is also included).
If they land on an exclamation mark, the teacher will ask them to do an action (e.g. "Tócate la nariz"). Twenty-five sample actions are included.
If they land on the stairs, they go up or down to the other end, and if they land on the lift, do the same.
The winner will be the first counter on the finish line.
The template of the game can be easily adapted to revise specific topics.
A whole set of resources to teach the GCSE topic relationships within the family.
The presentation consists of 62 slides (please note that the presentation was made using Smartboard Notebook, not Powerpoint; I have included a Powerpoint copy, but a lot of the features do not work or work worse on Powerpoint, so I advice using Notebook to open it) includes the following vocabulary areas:
- family members
- physical descriptions
- character
- “me llevo bien” and reasons for getting on (or not) with people.
The presentation covers the following grammar points:
- ser and tener
- the conditional
- comparatives
- negatives
- asking questions
It also includes several speaking activities (role plays and photo cards), as well as a variety of games (naughts and crosses, connect 4, walk around the room finding information).

A set of lessons to prepare students to write about their ideal partner and their future plans. It revises key vocabulary and adjectives and it includes a long, challenging reading activity. Grammar wise it revises the conditional, the immediate future and adverbs with “-mente”. A short translation and a photo card at the end of the notebook file revise the topic, while two further photo cards are included as a separate file.
Update: I have now included a PowerPoint version of the main file, converted from the original Notebook file. I recommend whenever possible to use the original version, as the file conversion has changed the layout of some slides and some features work less effectively on Power
Point.
A set of 13 time-saving worksheets to set quick, simple cover work. Suitable for younger students. Each worksheet includes bilingual vocabulary lists and simple activities (with instructions in English) for the students to complete at their own pace.
A set of lessons to prepare GCSE students to speak and write about their personal qualities, what qualities are required for different jobs and what they consider important in a job. It also includes an introduction to the subjunctive and an "easy to use" sentence builder, using the structure 'No creo que sea + subjunctive'.
Update: I have now included a PowerPoint version of the main file, converted from the original Notebook file. I recommend whenever possible to use the original version, as the file conversion has changed the layout of some slides and some features work less effectively on Power Point.
Two lessons to prepare Key Stage 3 students to write about their favourite sport. Based on Harry Potter's quidditch, it focuses on opinions, comparisons and tenses, with a translation that the students then use as a template to write their own paragraphs. It also includes a link to a video in French of a quidditch match for those students not acquainted with Harry Potter.
Update: I have now included a PowerPoint version of the main file, converted from the original Notebook file. I recommend whenever possible to use the original version, as the file conversion has changed the layout of some slides and some features work less effectively on Power Point.

A set of 40 Photo Cards covering all the topics of the Identity and Culture theme: Me, my family and friends (8 cards), Technology in everyday life (8 cards), Free-time activities (8 cards), Food and eating out (8 cards) and Customs and festivals (8 cards). Each card includes five foundation questions (in red) and five higher questions (in blue), the first of which (at both foundation and higher level) is always “¿Qué hay en la foto?” .
The booklet also includes a summary of the requirements of the speaking test and a copy of the mark scheme for the photo card.
UPDATED: I have modified this resource to better resemble the photo cards on the AQA exam: there are now five foundation and five higher questions on each card (instead of four). At foundation level one of the first three questions (what in the exam would be the printed questions) requires the use of a tense other than the present. At higher level references to three time frames are needed, with one time frame other than the present required in one of the first three questions and the remaining time frame in one of the other two questions.
A series of lessons to talk about the city or town where you live. It includes some exam like questions (translation and photo card). It also provides the students with opportunities to practise "se puede + infinitive".
Update: I have now included a PowerPoint version of the main file, converted from the original Notebook file. I recommend whenever possible to use the original version, as the file conversion has changed the layout of some slides and some features work less effectively on Power Point.
