The focus of these resources is on how the music elements are used in Star Wars and acquiring the necessary subject specific terminology using the acronym DR SMITH (Dynamics - Rhythm, Tempo and Metre - Structure - Melody - Instrumentation - Texture - Harmony and Tonality). The elements are dealt with one at a time therefore there are seven power points in this resource. The score is annotated and each slide has an accompanying audio so the aspect of the element being discussed is instantly heard in action.

This resource consists of seven power points with annotated score and embedded audio extracts for each slide. The focus is on how the music elements are used in the Edexcel Star Wars set work and how they describe the action onscreen. This is very much a creative response to the set works. You will acquire the necessary subject specific terminology using the acronym DR SMITH (Dynamics - Rhythm, Tempo and Metre - Structure - Melody - Instrumentation - Texture - Harmony and Tonality) and the elements are dealt with one at a time (i.e. one element per power point). The score is annotated and because each slide has an accompanying audio, the aspect of the element being discussed can be instantly heard in action. Really helpful for delivery by a teacher, but also designed for my online course enabling independent study.
