How Do I Use The Summer Snapshot Writing Frame?
These fun summer holiday snapshot templates give you the freedom to use them however you want! Ask the children to draw their favourite summer moment or write a small story. These can be cut out and displayed in the classroom on a string for an arty effect.
The first day back term can be difficult with trying to keep pupils focussed after their Summer holidays. That’s where our Summer Snapshot Writing Frame comes in.
With its ‘snapshot’ design built to resemble Polaroid camera photos, it helps to transition them into the new school year by focussing their Summer reminiscences into important categories.
With plenty of blank space around the frames, it can be used not just a writing exercise but perhaps a design exercise, get your pupils to decorate their frames as creatively as they wish. This provides a gentle balance for children who find writing challenging and prefer drawing.
Support children’s understanding of arithmetic using these Men’s Rugby World Cup themed code breaker worksheets. They provide a fun way to practise time tables and division calculations.
Answers are rugby terms such as flanker, try, prop, scrum and forward
A matching card activity to reinforce that probability ranges from 0 to 1. Learners have to match color spinners to the correct answer card. For example a spinner may have 2 red slices out of 5 slices and learners will have to find a card that says 0.4 chance of landing on red
I use it as a paired activity, though could be individual, it gets learners writing probability as fractions and then changing them to decimals, also reinforces that the chance of something happening only ranges from 0 to 1.
Two Average Codebreakers, an eay one and a more difficult one to stretch learners. Fun way of reviewing mean, median, mode and range. Learners answer questions on averages, their answers will answer the punchline to a joke.
Use this lovely parts of speech game to identify verbs and adjectives
This resource asks students to find the imposter in a group, or find the odd one out. Each slide shows 3 verbs and one adjective, learners need to identify which word is not a verb for example. Students could then go on to make their own categories with an imposter in them in order to challenge their classmates.
Learners will love the game, the images from the popular game Among Us and the music that plays throughout the game.
Suitable for Primary 2-3 learners
An estimation worksheet with differentiated questions. Also a powerpoint of the worksheet and answers included to display to students. Suitable for GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths. Quick and easy to follow questions that will test all abilities, make a good starter, plenary or worksheet.
With the new school year soon approaching, it is the perfect time to start preparing some icebreaker activities for your students. School is obviously a place for kids to learn but it’s also a place for them to make friends and learn social skills. With that being said, the new school year can be nerve-wracking for lots of kids. All about me resources are a fantastic way for your kids to get to know one another and introduce themselves to the class.
When you download this All About Me Hoodie, you will get two worksheets. On one of these worksheets, there is an illustration of a hoodie that has been split up into different sections. Each of these sections gives kids a chance to reveal different parts of their personality, including:
Name
I love…
My favourite gadget
My favourite colour
Age
My favourite book
My favourite subject
My favourite sport
There is also room for kids to doodle all around their All About Me Hoodies and even draw a self-portrait. Once completed, you can display these hoodies on the wall, so your students can see different things about each other.
The second worksheet in this resource is an illustration of a blank All About Me Hoodie for your students to decorate.
I suggest giving out both sheets and get students to answer and decorate on the blank sheet
